Which Signature resto to leave out?

Hi there!!!

We just booked our free dining package and upgraded to deluxe dining. Our goal in doing this is to have a TS breakfast at 7-7:30am and a nice signature dinner every night. Since we only have 7 nights, we cannot do ALL the Signatures. We do not care for Cinderella's castle and really want to keep Brown Derby for our Fantasmic Package.

We need to leave out one restaurant, which one would you cancel?

Artist Point. My DH liked the salmon and the macaroni & cheese side dish was incredible but everything else was just so so to not good including the waiter.

Brown Derby gets my vote- most of the food is available at other places- the style is not that unique- foodwise.

Another vote for Brown Derby. It's good but definitely a notch below the others.

Thanks! I would like to cancel Brown Derby but since Fantasmic is at 8pm, if I choose another Signature resto, we would either have to eat at 5pm or 9:15pm and we usually like to shower/change to go to nice restaurants so we're kind of in a pickle. Dont know what else to do

Since you understandably don't want to loose the Brown Derby I would get rid of one of these:

1) Yachtman - the food here is excellent, however, I think you can find steak just as good at the other signatures... but if you're big steak house people I would keep it

2) Citricos or Narcoossees - both are excellent, however, I enjoy going to as many different resorts as possible for signatures dinners so I would loose one stop at the GF

I would definately NOT get rid of California Grill simply for amazing view that you just can't get anywhere else. My only other advice is to just look at the menus and see if there is one place that does not stand out as much for you.

Hey I havent been to all of them, however I did goto Brown Derby (for lunch). The wife and I werent terribly impressed, it was good, don't get me wrong, but it wasnt the same level as the other signatures. When we did fantasmic, we went to the 5pm showing (got there about half an hour early and had seats front and center) and grabbed some snacks to much. This was in January tho for the marathon, so it was A-cold and B-sort of the off season. We then went to Jiko for dinner afterwards.

Citricos was phenomenal - get the veal shank, the swordfish I got was good, but the wife's veal shank was easily one of the best things we had on property.

Yachtsman - This place had good steaks, of which I'm a big fan. Really liked the beef tartare appetizer, the beach/yacht club are gorgeous at night.

Cali Grill - I was excited to have sushi, the restaurant was a little crowded but the wife and I were in the wine room, much more personal. Food was quite good in my opinion.

Jiko - absolutely amazing. Fillet and Mac and Cheese. Loved the dipping sauces.

I would either pick between Citricos and Narcoossee's OR... pay for the last one OOP and do them all.

I would drop the Brown Derby. It was ok, but I didn't think Signature.

Can you now do the Fanstamic Package as part of the Dining Package? I didn't care for those seats at all.

HBD would be my 1st "do not cancel" restaurant. A few years ago, it wasn't that great, but it's fantastic now. We ate at HBD & Flying Fish on back-to-back nights & all agreed HBD blew FF away.

That said, I recommend keeping FF, because we have had great meals there in the past. Personally, I'd cancel Narcoossees. If you prefer Narcoossees menu to Citricos, I'd cancel Citricos. To me, one GF restaurant is enough.

Hi Jozy,

We upgraded to Deluxe dining and are doing signature dinners as well. Our line-up is:

Jiko (my kids and DH voted unanimously to come back here!)
Flying Fish
Brown Derby
Yachtsman
Narcoossees

I'm also still trying to get Cali Grill too! We looked through all the menus and found those to be the best for us. So.... if I had your ADRs, I'd drop either Citricos or Artist Point.

Hi,

We did just about the same plan you are doing (b.fast and signature dinners) for our March trip. I would cancel Yachtsman, unless you really love steak. It just didn't seem as good as the other signatures. If you do love steak, then I would drop one of the GF dinners. We really enjoyed Nacrooses, but never tried Citricos.

I would definitely keep Brown Derby. It is wonderful, and works very well with your plans.

We've been to all of the signatures and our first suggestion would be to drop Brown Derby. since you want to keep that for Fantasmic! our next suggestion would be to drop Yachtsman. The steak was good,but it's not that unique. I agree that the veal shank at Citrico's is delicious.

We had a similar dilemma. We left out Brown Derby and Artist Point and replaced them with Jiko and Narcoossee's.
We had plans for the Fantasmic as well, but decided that we'd take the risk of waiting in line, rather than paying 2 TS for a meal.
