Which signature restaurant?

Hello all,

My DBF and I are doing a 8 day split stay trip at the Poly/Beach Club in 2 weeks. We are doing the deluxe dining plan on our beach club stay, and have reservations at 4 signature restaurants for dinner. Currently, we have reservations at Yachtsman Steakhouse on 4/29, California Grill on 4/30, Narcoosee's on 5/1, and Morimoto Asia on 5/2. We had dinner at California Grill on our first Disney World trip last year and thought it was wonderful, but as we are very indecisive people (hence the split stay!) I'm wondering if we should change our California Grill reservation to another signature restaurant that we haven't tried yet, or keep our California Grill reservations. As far as food tastes go, I am more willing to try new foods than my bf is, however with a little encouragement (and alcohol) he is willing to try some new things as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

We love Citricos (greatly prefer it to CG). Some family didn't care for Narcoosee's (didn't think the food was up to par), but we haven't been there. I think Jiko is the next signature we'll try, considering all the great reviews I've read.

I don't think you can go wrong with CG, yachtsman, or Narcoosee's. They are always among our favorites. Even if you've done CG before, I think I'd prefer to know there was one "sure thing" in our midst. We haven't done Morimoto yet, but I've been underwhemled by their reviews. If it were me I'd go Jiko over Moromito any day (and actually over any of the other 3 you mentioned)

I agree, you can't go wrong with Narcoossee's (my favorite) and California Grill! I'm a creature of habit, though. I stick with what I love!

Would you consider Jiko? We are trying it this year. We have tried all of the other signature dining restaurants. Flying Fish is also great. But, it's closed for renovations.

Jiko is our favorite, but it sounds like your bf might not be so adventurous. So I'll recommend Artist Point as well. It's excellent & the atmosphere is great.

We really enjoyed Narcoossee's I wish I could have the almond cheesecake every night:love:

Another vote for Jiko. My sister & I went this past March, we had a wonderful time. Amazing food, atmosphere & service. I would recommend. I would also love to go back. :)

The million $ question...I suppose everyone will have their favourites, however our top five are..Jiko...YS...AP...CG..and Narcoossees..

Keep the CG ressie. Great food and great ambience - especially if you can get a table next to a window! Then you can go out to the rooftop after - great view!
It's one of the places we'll be going for our meager 5 night bc stay - in 122 days

That is a tough question to try and answer. For me, Narcoossee's is my favorite restaurant and is always a must do for me. I also enjoy Yachtsman Steakhouse and will be trying Morimoto for the first time this June. I actually think that California Grill is your weakest link of the signatures and is the one I would consider trying something new since you have been there before. Sure CG has an incredible view but I have found the service to be spotty and the restaurant to be very loud. The entrees are decent but I also really don't care for the dessert menu. A couple of places that I think are much better are Jiko and Artist Point. Both of these locations have excellent food and a very nice atmosphere as well.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions., I appreciate them all!

For now we've decided to keep our CG reservation, and actually changed our Morimoto reservation to The Boathouse. When we were in the initial planning stages of this trip back in October we originally had reservations at Jiko, but my bf has an irrational fear of exotic foods and nixed the idea after doing more research. AP was on our list as well, but reading recent reviews has kind of swayed us away from there, at least for now. Le Cellier was also in the mix, but contrary to what my bf thinks, I'd rather not have steak for dinner every night. Citrico's menu didn't appeal to me for some reason, so that's why we decided on keeping the CG reservation. The atmosphere when we went last year was fine, and the few children that were there were actually very well behaved. We enjoyed the food very much, and my bf even raved about the water(?!). Plus watching Wishes after dinner there was amazing... That said, we still have two weeks to decide, so who knows if we'll change our minds again!
