I am sure this has been asked before, but i'd love to hear opinions on which side of the boat to book our verandah. We are thinking of the Costa Maya cruise that goes to CC twice, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Any suggestions?

Oh, and since I am word challenged regarding this.....if you are looking toward the front of the ship, is port side the left side? Did I get that right?

Thanks!

LOL! I believe that is right. :) I try to remember to go alphabetically as you are facing the front of the ship. I would get a starboard stateroom with two stops at CC so that you will face the island on those two days. IMO, the best view you will see.

You can always remember which side is which by just remembering that
PORT had 4 letters, same as the lord LEFT. PORT is LEFT = 4 letters.

I believe that the ship docks in CC both directions, depending on the weather.

If the weather is nice, they back in, making "STARBOARD" or "RIGHT" the side you want to be on.
We were told on our cruise, that if the wind is a blowin, they will generally go in nose first, meaning that "PORT" or "LEFT" would be the spot to be.

So, it's really a crap shoot. Sorry I can't help with Costa Maya.

I am on the port side, but I am happy to have any view. As a child at summer camp we learned a trick for remembering what port was. Port and Left have the same number of letters. :)

we prefer starboard....I just think it typically offers better views.....just a personal preference....

As said previously you cannot bank on always having the right view as the ship will dock backwards or frontwards. When trying to get into castaway we went backwards on all 3 attempts but I have seen it in frontwards.

Either way you will have a great view while at sea!

Which side of the boat???
I'd rather not be on the boat. The boats are there incase there's something wrong with the ship :) Oh yea, you ment ship ... I prefer being on the inside of the ship rather than being stuck at home. So ON the ship is the best "side" for me!
