I'm completely torn and hope you can help. We're planning on a trip early June 2015. My husband and I have two kids 4 and 6. We plan on heading to a park most mornings and returning to the resort for an afternoon swim and nap before hopping to a park at night. If we do a 6 day park hopper, assume 6 of our 12 (1/2 day) visits will be to MK. Assume the price is the same. SHOULD WE PICK WL main building (renovations/noise? Boat to MK, not very spread out) or BC DVC building (walk to Parks, great pool, too spread out? Possible DVC renovations??

Help!! Which should we pick?

First thing is you need a time machine:) Or plan this for June 2016. I love the wilderness lodge but would be inclined to chose BC as it is possible nap time could be impacted by the consturction. I know the spa will be close at WL from the noise, possible it can be heard from your room during the day. While you would be further from the park you visit the most, you are certainly closer to Epcot/HS which combined you are visiting similar amounts to MK. Being the summer you will certainly take advantage of the superior pool (the WL pool is nice though).

Assuming you mean early June 2016, WL is going to have some significant construction going on. While much of it will be on the end near the Villas (and close the beach, quiet pool and nature trail), I'd be concerned about daytime noise is nap is a goal. No one is 100% sure what the timing of everything will be for the construction, and resort renovations never seem to run on schedule.

They haven't announced actual timing on the BCV renovations at this point. They did, but then postponed, and it'd hard to believe they'd disrupt WLV so heavily then disrupt BCV during summer season too.

I might consider third options, like renting DVC points for a Poly studio (sleeps 5, 3 sleep surfaces), or YCV, which shares the pool with BCV but isn't in line for renovations.

Yep... 2016! Crazy because it seems so soon! Keep the opinions coming! How is the walk from BC DVC to the pool? We don't mind walking but stayed at Kidani and it was a loooooong walk.

We've stayed at both WL and BC (regular rooms, not DVC) and my choice would be the WL. We thought the BC was nice, but we prefer being in the MK area. Good luck.

BCV all the way! We stayed in a 2-bedroom this past April and it was fantastic! The location cannot be beat! There is a quiet pool right by the building and the walk to the main pool is not long at all. The walk to EP is super short! We loved it. It's so convenient and relaxing. WL on the other hand felt a bit remote in that there are not a lot of dining options compared to BC area and you always had to take transportation somewhere. They were actually doing some room refurbs at BCV while we were there and we heard nothing. Also stayed at BWV during room refurbs and heard nothing as well. Major resort construction is another story! If I had to choose between a resort doing a refurb and a resort doing construction, I would definitely choose the refurb!

Another vote for WL, construction or not. It is just so convenient to MK. The kids will love the boat. Also, the size of the resort is a big plus with kids that age, and I think they will like the theme better. My DS4 loves WL. The pool area is great for kids, especially the kiddie area. My son loved it. We also like that you can easily get to CR, Poly, GF or Fort Wilderness. So you can easily get to Chef Mickey's, the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, the Chip and& Dale Campfire Sing A Long and lots of other things.

I would choose BC. I stayed at WL during the pool construction last year, and really disliked the disruption. Candidly, I prefer BC anyway.

Without construction at WL this could be a toss-up for me. With construction at WL I think your better bet for a relaxing time when you're at the resort will be BC. Plus you'll have access to best pool on property and you'll be able to walk into Epcot. DHS will be a short boat ride away as well.

Since you are getting park hoppers (in addition to the construction) I'd go for BC. You have so many meal options to pop in and out of Epcot within a short walk.

Stormalong Bay at BC is wonderful, especially during the summer months. Teenaged son and I stayed there a few years ago for the first time and I actually regretted that we never made it a point to stay when our kids were younger, when we always opted for resorts close to MK. With construction taking place at WL I wouldn't take a chance and would book BC. You can always take a midday break during an MK day and take a boat ride to WL to take in its ambience.
