Which should we do first? Jedi Training signups or TSMM?

We are going to WDW in November (our 4th visit) and I am beginning to work on my tour plans so that I can be prepared to make my ADRs and FP+ selections when the time for each comes up. (I recognize I may have to alter them as additional FP+ data comes in.)

Anyway, I would love for my little guys to be able to ride TSMM twice when we go to DHS (as they used to do), but with the lines getting long earlier than normal, I'm not sure how to make that happen.

I was originally planning to try for an afternoon FP+ for TSMM, and then hit the ride first thing at RD to ensure we could go on twice without waiting in mega long lines. However, I also want to sign my boys up for Jedi training.

So my question: If we go straight to TSMM and then to Jedi training after that, is there a good chance we will not get slots for Jedi Training? Also, how much time do you think we'll be in line for Jedi training sign ups if we wait to do so until after first riding TSMM? (I'm trying to plan the rest of the day, and don't want to underestimate the line for jedi training signups!)

Thanks for your help!

if you have one fast pass plus I would do the jedi sign ups first if they are a must do! Then head over to TSMM and try for stand by then? I wouldn't risk not getting a jedi training spot to do a second ride on TSMM.

If you walk among the lines waiting for the gates to open at DHS you will be amazed at the number of people planning their sprint to sign up for Jedi Training experience. We were first in line at one of the entry gates and you could hear discussions going on all down the lines. This is very popular and has limited opportunity. We did this with our Grandsons last Dec. Once they open the gates people are literally sprinting there, so I would guess if you went to Toy Story first you probably would not even be able to get a slot later.

Most times of the year, JTA is not completely selling out by 9:10 am, which is what time you can easily be there if you arrive at rope drop and head straight to TSM. Do not stop, do not pass go and do not collect $200.

Now, that being said, you may be in one of the later sessions, so depending on how that effects your touring (ADRs, hopping, etc.) you'll have to prioritize what is more important, an early JTA or TSm twice in the same day with minimal wait.

Another option is to have one adult sign the kids up while the other takes the kids on TSM.

Sounds like a good business plan....next trip I might charge $10 per family to go sign their kids of up JTA.

I'm pretty sure you have to have a kid with you in order to sign up for JTA.

Your kids do need to be with you when signing up for JTA. If you attempted your plan on an EMH morning as an onsite guest, there's a better chance of getting a JTA slot after one TSMM ride. But, if it is your only day at DHS, then be sure to sign up for JTA before TSMM.

During the slow season, there are only 15 Younglings per session - that's why it fills up so quickly. During the busy season, there are 30 per session. Also make sure your kids really want to participate in JTA before you finalize your plans for your DHS day.

another consideration, if the kids really really really want to re-ride TSMM there is always stand by. If they don't get into JTA, there is nothing you can do!

Thanks for the responses. We are planning our one day at DHS for an EMH morning (opens at 8.) The kids have done Jedi training and love it, so they will definitely want it again. I guess I will do the sign up first thing, FP+ TSMM for the late afternoon, and hope the SB line for TSMM doesn't build super quickly.

You will want to do the Jedi Training first. Plan for you TSMM for later in the morning or afternoon and get to Jedi training first. We got there an hour before the park opened so that we were first in line to get in and we walk/jogged there first. We were in the first showing which was great. Good Luck.

Can you ask to be in one of the later shows or if you show up first then you get the first times automatically?

I'd like to sign up at 8am, do some rides and then do the show closer to 11am.

Any chance of that?

Yes we have done this on our last two trips. They didn't bat an eye when we asked for a later time.
