Hi - We have room in our plans for one more breakfast - should we go to Kona's or Whispering Canyon Cafe?

:)

Been to "Whispering" only once and won't be going back. It's one of those "participatory" interactive spots and we didn't care for all of the goings-on.. Lots of folks love it tho, and it's always crowded. The food was ok.
Kona is a great table service breakfast spot and we always go there for breakfast on our MK day.

as 2 adults dining at WCC we have never been bothered w/antics there. we have been able to eat in peace. the food is good. we usually go early so maybe the waiters are not awake yet and the antics aren't as bad. LOL:p

Just wanted to pipe in that Kona is the best. We ate here for breakfast twice our last trip with no PS. Just walked up and were seated either immediately or within 5 minutes. The food is excellent, the service wonderful and fast. You can't go wrong here.

We have breakfasted at both many times.
The all you can eat skillet at WCC is a gamble. Usually not very good. DH had a Kansas City Hash or something like that which he enjoyed one time. We like the ala carte items much better than the skillet. I think we are scheduled to eat there in May and then head out to the marina to rent boats. It just fit with our plans or we probably wouldn't go too far out of our way...

Kona is reliable. You can count on a good breakfast there. However, if you're not on your way to MK (that's when we stop there) and you don't mind a drive elsewhere we find Boatwright's to have a similar but superior breakfast. (It's at POR. It's also a tad less expensive.) Actually, we have just changed our dining plan for May to switch from Kona to Boatwright's for breakfast. Given the choice the whole family chooses Boatwright's. Still, Kona is a good choice.

i agree w/Belle5 about the skillet and ordering ala carte. that is a much better choice. happy eating:p

while i am dying to try the tonga toast at kona's.....

whispering canyon is one of our favorites for breakfast!

Kona has a great breakfast!! If you like rich strong coffee try the press pot! Their tonga toast was something i had to try but i found it to be too sweet and heavy!!! But, i think if you are a donut person you should give it a try...Have fun...:D

Kona's!!
I had the fruit plate last time, just was not in the mood for Tonga Toast-too much rich food all trip-it was awsome I did not care for the muffin that came with it but the banana bread was great. The fruit was so fresh. And it was "pretty" also.

Another vote for Kona. It's quiet, unhurried and delicious.

WC is loud, and the food is hit or miss. Last time we tried WC, DH had the all you can eat, which was cold. Our waiter disappeared to supervise the horsey races so we couldn't even get our coffee refilled for about 20 minutes. I had the Kansas City Hash, which was tasty, but so incredibly greasy I had to tilt the plate to let the grease run off to one side.

Can only tell you about the Kona. We just made our PS for the third year in a row. The food is great.
