We just booked a Grand Villa for our trip next January at SSR. There are 9 of us going ranging in age from 5 to 67. Two of us have mobility issues. No car for this trip, only buses.

Which section do you recommend for this group? We have requested the Grandstand at this time, but it looks like a bit of a hike from the Carriage House to the bus stop. Is it any worse than from Congress Park to the Carriage House?

Grandstand will likely give you the best combination of shorter (though not short) walks and bus convenience, particularly if you can get into the two grandstand buildings closest to CH. These are a shorter walk to CH than CP. Someone else is likely to chime in with their room #s, as I don't remember them off hand.

hi have you thought about the tree houses they hold 9 and some of them have disabled access.

I believe there is only 1 THV with handicap access (maybe more but I remember reading threads about limited #sw) otherwise lots of stairs and not ideal if there is questionable mobility. A ground floor GV or with an elevator is way better.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a video by Deb Wills showing the ramp tp theHA Treehouses. If memory serves, there are 2 linked by a common (and very looooong) ramp. You could search allears.net or search for the video on YouTube. I think I'm with sweetdana that a GV in SSR proper would serve the OP better, but it would be an option to consider. Not sure about availability of these 2THs at about 9 1/2 months, either. It's gamble, but possibly worth a phone call.

We thought about the THV, but we want all the families (there are 3) to have their own rooms. With the THV we would have to have some people on the couch, which is not what we want. We need the central living area to be free for anyone to use without worrying about disturbing someone sleeping on a couch.

Thank- you for the suggestion though.
