Which School Break Period is Least Busy?

I am curious which time period when kids are out of school is the least busy at Disney? I know it's not Christmas, but just wondering if there is any school break that is the least busy? Also, we pulled our kids out this year in January to go and I'm wondering if there is a better week to take kids out for a trip? We went the week between Marathon weekend and MLK Day.

Spring break weeks differ between school districts, spreading out the crowds. If yours is not immediately before or after Easter, then that can be a good time to go. We went last year and are going again this year.

If you are taking kids out of school, then the "crowd calendars" may help you decide.

Definitely stay away from any trip before or after Easter! I am a teacher and am limited to visits during school breaks or summer. We made the mistake a few years ago of going during our spring break which was unfortunately the week before Easter. It was horrifically crowded and even though we made the best of it and were able to get a lot of rides in through careful planning and early park days I would never do those crowds again! We are going again this year in mid March and since Easter is so late this year hoping for a little less crowded visit (or at least being able to walk through Fantasyland without CM crowd control lol).

As far as taking kids out of school if you are pulling them out anyway I would just pick a week that looks like it has low crowds. I know there is often a lot of debate about pulling kids out, but as an elementary teacher I think missing one week of school at that age is not going to make or break their academic career. I don't even send homework with my students when they go-just a have fun and you can share about your trip when you get back. I can catch them up on anything they miss when they come back. Now I do have 2 high schoolers and I would never pull them out now just because they would stress about all of the instruction and work they would miss but that is my kids. They don't even like to miss school when they are sick!

We like to go as soon as school gets out for the year, which is late May for us. It isn't a break during the school year, though.

We've gone the last week of August for the past 5 years and are going again this year (DS9 goes back to school the day after Labor Day). It's hot, but the crowds are low!
