Which room to request at DLH....help for Aussies please!!

We are going to book at the DLH for our Oct trip. Can anyone tell me which is the best standard room to request? I would hate to come all the way from Australia and have a parking lot view Do you think I should just throw the budget out the window and pay for a better view to make sure we get one or are requests usually given to guests? I have no idea about this hotel and it's layout so any good info would be greatly appreciated!! I'd love to stay on a higher floor with a view of something!!! If anyone has any pics of the DLH standard room views or any pics at all that would be great. Thanks heaps from Down Under

I think more inportant than view is which tower you are in. There are three, We like the Sierra Tower (which I think thay call Dream tower now. If you are on the back side you see Peter Pan themed pool. The other will be out towards the parks. A lower level will give you more of a DTD view. BUT every day and night returning to your room you go under the big Sorcerers Hat. We love that. If it isn't too full, you can request an upgrade to a higher level. I would request the Dream Tower first then consider the upgrade

Disney will not guarantee which tower you will be put in, though I agree that you should request the Dream Tower (formerly Sierra Tower). I would recommend requesting a resort/pool view. This way you're sure to have a nice view, regardless of the tower that you are in.

You can also request the Downtown Disney view. I got that for my cousins one year, and they had a great view of Downtown Disney, with glimpses of Disneyland & California Adventure. They had a small one, and went back to their room early, and we saw the fireworks from their room. It was nice.

Here are some pics of our room we stayed in last week. We were in the Dreams tower, 7th floor with a pool view.

We had never stayed in the Dreams tower and were a little skeptical at first. The lady at the reception desk said to try it out and if we don't like it, call down for a room change. We ended up loving it. The entrance is slightly closer to DTD than the Magic tower. Also, the access to the pool is super easy.

Our room had a daybed, 2 queen beds, seperate toilet and 2 sinks. It was the perfect size for a family of 5.
