We are headed to OKW in December with 3 adult children in a 2 bedroom. We are doing an RCI exchange. What should we request that we would be most likely to get, (I realize as exchangers we are at the bottom of the request list). We want to avoid road noise but aren't too concerned about a specific view although a golf course view would be nice as would an upper floor. Thanks in advance. Debby

I think Bldgs 30 to 35 would be good, they are conveient to a bus stop and the Turtle Pond pool.

As it happens, DVC doesn't offer preferences to owners over exchangers, for better or worse. But, OKW has two different categories of inventory. "Near hospitality house" (from memory, 11-15, 23-26), and "general resort" (everything else). Any exchange deposits are either from one pool or the other, and you cannot change a confirmed unit from one pool to a room assignment in another. Chances are very good that you will not have a "near hospitality house" unit.

After that, I've always found it better to request "what" I want, rather than "where". That normally translates to "a quiet water view."

One more thought: if you expect to have any of your kids on the pull-out, you will want to request "building 30 or higher". Mid-way through the build-out, there was a design change. 1BR and 2BR units in buildings 29 and lower do not have a door from the LR to the Master Bath. Those in buildings 30 and higher do have such a door. Makes a big difference for privacy.

I agree with Brian. We do have favorite buildings, but we find the "good" locations far outnumber the bad ones at OKW. I would request golf view and away from main road and leave it at that. OUr favorite buildings are 45, 46, 15, 18, 20, 56 etc. We like both Miller's Road and South Point best and haven't had a lot of rooms we like in the Turtle Pond area.

Least desireable location???? buildings 28 and 29 on the first floor.
