I am going to stay at POP during Xmas week (It was not my first, second or even third choice!!! LOL) with my 2 kids, 14 & 9. Which building and floor would you recommend at POP??

We are staying Jan.19-22 precruise and I was wondering the same thing. We have never stayed at Pop and didn't know which building to request with DS-4, and DD-3. Upper floors will not work because we will be using a stroller.

Previous vacationers please help, which buildings are best?

No opinion to offer about which buildings, but I can tell you that all the buildings in Pop have elevators, so your stroller shouldn't be a problem wherever you end up.

thanks for that bit of information. I did not know that.

My dd and I stayed in the 50's bldgs, bldg #2 (Jukebox) on the third floor, way to the back. The bldg is shaped like a T, so we were at the very bottom of the T. It was incredible quiet and we just walked out of our door, turned to the left and could watch the upper IllumiNations show.

I was going to suggest an upper floor due to quietness :flower:
They do have elevators. We stayed on the 4th floor in the 70's section. It was a short walk to the food court and main pool and very quiet.

That would be so cool, thanks for the info. I was actually thinking of the 50's buildings due to Lady and the tramp icons. DD loves them. From another post I learned that staying on an upper floor is ok since there are elevators. Thanks again!

verdict was 50s or 70s on top floor not pool view [pool rooms are loud]. You can request illuminatiosn view [so you can see it from far away in the sky]. I figure we'll take our chances with the view and just try for those buildings.
We were also able to guarantee connecting with double beds in each room [couldn't guarantee king because reserved for handicapped]. It will be nice for me and DH to put the kids to bed and be able to hang out.

I like the 70's building 10. Close the the pool, food court, and bus stops.

We had the 60's building, or otherwise known as "preffered room."
We were on the 3rd floor, it was so nice. We were right across from the pool and the gift shop/food court was a short walk away. And since we were up high, we couldn't hear any noises from the outside. Very nice.

We stayed at a value, Pop last month and was very disappointed. I have issues with walking, severe asthma, and requested a centrally located room due to this health issue. We ended up in the 50s all the way back at the T and it is quite a hike to the busses or food court. Upon checkin I asked if this room was close by due to health issues and the girl snapped "its right out there". I requested this as soon as ressies were made, even said I would pay extra if need be to be centrally located and was told that rooms are close by without paying extra. After finally hiking to our room and being SOB
i called front desk and asked to be moved would be more than willing to pay extra, no luck resort booked, not available. I called for next 2 days and told same thing. Don't count on your request being honored even if a health issue. I always stayed at a Deluxe, will be doing so from now on. Had no issues with the resort, was very clean and rooms nice, staff that I had interaction with at check in not so nice, I realize not everyones request can be honored, but with health issues and willing to pay to be upgraded is not honored I find that a problem. Would say if you can walk without difficulty and have no problems with this than this resort is fine, I prefer when the staff at least listens to your request and why.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Just a thought - if you ever did want to try a value again, you can book a preferred room ahead of time, and then you're guaranteed to be close to the main building. I imagine they would have been happy to upgrade you (for the extra cost) if there had been any preferred rooms available. When you book it ahead of time, there's no question.

However, there's no excuse for the front desk staff having been rude to you when you checked in.

My friend and I stayed on the 4th floor away from the Pool in the 80s building. We had a partial view of the parking lot, but also of the lake there! It was fantastic! :)

Fourth Floor in 50's building! It isn't a long walk and you have your own private pool! If you get a veiw of the lake then it is very gorgeous. TW at about 10 pm on some nites you can hear the fireworks from other parks. You can actually watch them from the fourth floor! Talk about magical!

Thanks for all of your input. We have stayed at ASM but now wanted to try POP. A room with firworks or illumintion view would be great!

Building #3 in the 1950's section is ideal. We stayed there on the top floor and adored how close it was to the buses, the 1950's and the 1960's pool, and the main hall. You can't go wrong with the 1950's.

How can you tell which building is number 3? The maps of Pop Century that I've found online have the buildings identified by decade, and then A, B, or C.
