Which rides with Express Pass line do you miss too much of the story line/theming?

We have never been to Universal before. We are staying at Portofino Bay and have the express passes. We are a WDW detail loving family. Are there any queues that we should stand in line to soak up the storyline. For example will we miss the goblins in Gringott's if we use the express pass?

IMO the only queue worth doing standby at least once is Forbidden Journey. There is some solid stuff missed if you use EP for it.

The rest IMO you don't miss anything worth the extra wait (i.e. you still see the best bits with EP, or the queue just isn't THAT interesting).

Definitely do FJ. I enjoy the express queue for Spider man, and I can't remember what all the regular queue has in it? that one might be worth it. Also the Mummy. Express has just a few details, but not nearly what you'll see in the regular. But we've not been through the regular in MANY years, so that might've changed. Last trip, only one we made sure to go regular on was Forbidden Journey.

Actually, the Express line for Gringotts also goes through the bank lobby, with good views of the goblins. I don’t think the Express line misses much at Gringotts.

The single rider line, on the other hand, bypasses the bank/goblins/most of the other theming entirely.

Same idea, but for single rider line. Don't do the single rider line at Velocicoaster if you want to see the cool raptor animatronics. It skips the whole area

I agree with this, but also do the Express line for Forbidden Journey. You see some areas you wouldn't with the normal line.

Bumping up this slightly old thread. To recap:

Gringotts: EP line is pretty much the same, single rider misses out.
Velocicoaster: EP line is pretty much the same, single rider misses out.
Forbidden Journey: stand in the regular line if possible, EP line misses out.

Correct so far? Any others? I was on Spider-man a few years ago, and don't remember much in the line.

You walk past along the side with EP, but you can stand there & watch her effects if you want. It's pretty early in the EP queue, not necessarily far enough where you'd be stopped, so it would be easy to miss that she does anything much if you're just walking on by.
