I'm wondering which rides in IOA and US require you to use lockers?

Hulk
Dueling Dragons
HRRR
Men In Black
Revenge Of The Mummy

Men in Black and the Mummy are both in US, right?

Those are the only ones I'm going to try riding, since being upside down makes me very ill. So I'm thinking that I can hang on to my family's stuff while we're in IOA, and we can travel light in US.

(Stuff = Harry Potter souvenirs! :cool1:)

Yes...they are both located at the Studios. :thumbsup2

Prolly new HP FJ ride too?

Oh... good point! Well, if that's the case, we'll just have to ride it first, then tour the shops. :goodvibes

I can't wait to hear what people have to say about it, after they finally open!

(Just - oh please - I'm praying it won't go upside down!)

Please explain the using of lockers. You can't take your backpack on these rides? Really? What about a fanny pack?

So much to learn!

Since the Universal attractions that require lockers are more intense than Disney rides, you can not take loose articles on those few rides. It's all about space and safety. A fanny pack is OK as long as it doesn't impede the restraint from closing. The lockers are free for the duration of the ride but sometimes the wait time goes over the alloted time. In that case, just find a TM working the locker area and they will open the lockers for you.

Although not required I would say it's highly suggested to use the lockers for Dudley Rip Saw Falls and Pluto's Barge.... just to avoid getting all your stuff soaked.

I've never seen the lockers at Dudley's, but we used the ones at Popeye and THEY aren't free.

The lockers are to the left of the entrance to Dudley's. They too aren't free.

If it's possible, it's a good idea to bring ziploc bags so you can cover the important stuff you don't want to get wet.

Or just do what I do...wear cargo shorts with lots of pockets then you won't need to fool with the lockers. ;)

Your stuff would still get wet on the water rides but otherwise....

The lockers at Dudley/Popeye/River are $3/hr. A plastic bag, plus turning off cameras/phones, reduces the risk of damage.

Also, please note that the attractions that REQUIRE you to use lockers have the lockers set to to be free for the duration of the wait time, and ride. The rides that charge $3/hour are OPTIONAL. You CAN take loose articles on these rides, but lockers are there if you wish to use them.

Just a little warning about the "free" lockers. We go every year in the summer and always thought the lockers were free for 2 hours. Wrong. We found out they change this according to the lines. We were at men in black and decided to just leave our stuff in the locker and ride it again. We come back and its asking for money which I don't have because everything is in the locker. Finally someone came and helped us out and didn't charge us, just gave us a warning. So now I make sure we read it before we do it to see the time it is free.

Also, they won't let you on with a fanny pack on any ride that they have free lockers. They have stopped me and my fanny pack is not bulging. It just has money and tickets in it.

Dueling Dragons (which will now be in harry potter and under a new name) also requires that you put your things in a locker.

It depends on the TM working at the attraction.

If there's a locker, you are supposed to check bags/fannies.

Some have ridden with fanny packs on.

Just depends who's working.

I wouldn't take the chance tho...
