This will be our first trip in many many years and am trying to get stratagy down for touring the park. I appreciate any assistance with this one.

Soarin, Toy Story midway Mania, Screamin, and if you go during the summer, the grizzly river run, always have about a 30-50 min. wait.

TSMM does not, and has the longest line for sure.
Screeming does have FP,

Also i would add ToT which has FP but it's ditribution area is under consrtuction.

GRR has FP but in the morning is used to distribute the WoC FP.

Thanks! Do all of these have Fast Passes available?

Toy Story does not. Grizzly has fastpass, but those machines are now being used for World of Color fastpass distribution first until those are gone, so it's hard to say what time of day you'll be able to get a fastpass for Grizzly. Soarin' and Screamin' both have fastpasses. A helpful tip for Soarin' that we often use is to ride it first thing. California Adventure lists opening time as 10 AM but actually opens the gates at 9:30 AM. The only ride open at that time is Soarin', so we will sometimes go in early and ride it right then. Many people choose instead to wait for rope drop to be among the first to get to ToT or Toy Story or whatever, and many other people these days choose to get in the WoC fastpass line.

Screamin' has Single Rider line. As does Maliboomer (which is leaving this year). The line at Maliboomer can get long.

According to the Rehab schedule under Dis Sites Updates TSMM will be closed from 8/30/10 to 10/10 and the construction by ToT (affecting FP) will end 8/15/10.

California Adventure Rehabs

* 08/30/10 - 10/10/10 - Toy Story Midway Mania

California Adventure Park - Closings

* Tower of Terror FastPass Distribution Area will be closed through 08/15/10 due to construction of the Red Car Trolley

Maybe they'll add FP to TSMM? Wouldn't that be nice, esp. since they got rid of Single Rider on TSMM.

Right now Silly Symphonies has a line. We waited about 30 min. last Tuesday during the day. There is no FP for this but once the newness of the ride wears off the line should be shorter. It just (re)opened in June.

Mullholland Madness' line can get long but it does have FP and a Single Rider line.

Soarin' has FP and a SR line. I haven't had the best luck with the SR line. Sometimes it can seem to take longer than the regular line. There have also been times when the FP line can look long (out the door). Especially towards the end of the day.

I would arrive early and ride Soarin' before the park officially opens. If you think you'll want to ride it again, grab a FP as well for later. When you get off Soarin' the park should be opening soon. Head over towards GRR and wait where they stop you until the park opens. Head immediately for TSMM. As soon as your FP for Soarin' time window starts, grab FP for Screamin'. If you want to ride Mickey's Fun Wheel, now would be a good time to do it. The line for MFW can get long since it's a slow loading ride. The line for the swinging gondolas tends to be longer than the one for the non-swinging ones. We ride non-swinging since the swinging ones are pretty intense-really!

After riding MFW it may be time to get another FP. (You could use your Screamin' FP now or save them for later) Send one of your party over to MM to grab those. Then ride Maliboomer (use SR if line is long) and Silly Symphonies (located very close together). Then use your FP for MM if it's time.

If you have young ones in your group do Jumpin' Jellies (this line can take awhile) and the Golden Zephyr (this is actually a pretty cool ride for kids and adults). The line for GZ is usually pretty short.

You've now made a circle around PP and ridden most of the rides (and have FP in your pocket). If your last FP window has opened grab another FP for Screamin' (and ride using your first FP). Again, if you have youngsters in your group go ahead and ride Triton's Carousel between Screamin' and TSMM. You can also do a meet and greet with Woody and Jess in this same area.

If it's hot you could then ride GRR. If all the WOC Show Passes have been distributed grab a FP for GRR. Or use the Single Rider line. My DD10 does this one a lot by herself.

Head over to ToT and ride. If you have youngsters head over to Bugsland.

Don't overlook the Animation Academy in Hollywoodland. That's where you can do Turtle Talk with Crush and learn to draw characters.

Make time to see Aladdin. It's a great show! Also Pixar Play Parade is good, esp. if you have kids.

Disclaimer-Single Rider lines can become unavaiable at any time. If you want to us SR line and it is unavailable, you can come back at a later time. You must be 7 to ride on any ride at DLR alone.

HAVE FUN!

We were there 6/25-6/28, and I never saw the TSMM line shorter than 30 minutes. Usually it was 45-60. We got there at rope drop one day, and still waited almost a half hour to ride it.

In comparison, we were able to get on TOT 3x in a row with less than a 15 minute wait each time, at around 11:00 a.m. Same for MM (one of my DDs doesn't like TOT, so she and I rode MM while the rest of the family rode TOT). We were able to get on Screamin' several times that day also, utilizing FPs.

We grabbed a FP for Soarin' when we entered the park on a different day.

We rode GRR at around 2:00, with a 20 minute wait.

Hope that helps! I wish we were going back soon!

When we were there this past week, we rarely had longer than a 10 minute line for Screamin, we did get FPs but never used them because we didnt' need them.

Everyone's replies have been incredibly helpful in planning. We are going to arrive in DLR on July 19th. I am huge planner and a RD family, so I am going over the boards now to see what the game plan should be. We have been 3 times before so at least we are not new to touring the CA Parks and I have books and other web information that I use, however first hand knowledge cannot be beat especially with the WOC and all the entails. Disneydaz your post was most impressive and is greatly appreciated. :worship:
So looking forward to our trip :cool1:

Typically you will find that toy story midway mania is a good 45 min wait! Other then that, most things are 20 min.-ish but the line’s tend to move fast… :cool1:

:);):)

I was there 6/21-6/24, and another one that seemed to have pretty steady lines was Mickey's Fun Wheel. It's a fun ride, great view, but the wait seems pretty long for how short the actual ride is.

DD10 and I went yesterday and here's my observations. WOC has changed the way some of the ride lines are now.

We entered DCA at 10 a.m. (got held up upgrading our AP and couldn't get in at 9:30). FYI, the line to get into DCA was pretty long at 9:30. I figure most of them were there for either WOC Showpasses or TSMM.

We opted to head for ToT and ride it first. Got there at 10:03 and there was a small line. We were off the ride and getting in line to ride again at 10:23 so not bad, 20 min. inc. the ride. Second time was much shorter-entered at 10:23 and were completly done at 10:33. Only 10 mins. this time. The first time we rode it all the guests who went there first were in line ahead of us.

We went to DV Meet "n Greet and then headed over to PP (going by Soarin' and grabbing a FP) Screamin' had a 25 min. so we opted to use skip it and come back when our next FP window opened (soon). We checked out TSMM, 45 min. wait. We continued on. Mickey's Fun Wheel, 25/30 min. wait. Onward. We rode Maliboomer using SR line. They only had 1 tower open but while we were in line the opened the second tower. Yeah! We only waited about 10 min. to ride.

Next onto to Silly Symphonies. Posted time was 20 min. but it only took 10.

Next stop, MM, using SR line. Waited less than 5 min. to ride. We then rode GZ with no wait. Then we circled back over to Screamin' and rode it using SR line and grabbed a FP as well.

During this circle around PP we took time out for lunch at WWS in GC. Used our receipt to get back in the DCA/CG gate. No problem.;)

As we headed over to DL to see CELEBRATE! we checked out the FP line at Soarin' but it looked to long. We decided not to wait. FYI-to me it seems like the FP line is always long for Soarin'

After doing some things at DL we headed back over to DCA for an ice cream break at Brrrr Bank Ice Cream. Gibson Girl in DL had a much longer line.

After getting refreshed from sharing our double scoop in a waffle cone we had restored our energy enough to do some more rides. This was about 6 p.m. We checked out ToT but the posted time was 20 min. and we didn't want to wait.

Back over to PP. Checked out Soarin' FP line again, still too long.

GRR had a 5 min. wait (this was the theme all day-the sun didn't come out until after 4 yesterday). Stopped in at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

Rode Screamin' using our FP. Jumped on Triton's Carousel-no wait. TSMM still had a 45 min. wait. MFW had 20 min. wait. Skipped both and went to Maliboomer. Rode using SR again, posted wait was 10 min. On to SS, 10 min. wait. Then we rode GZ with no wait. It was a little before 7:30 when we boarded GZ and we saw them open the area for WOC for the 9 p.m. show.

Since we were getting tired we decided to head home after a quick stop at RCCT. DD10 loves the Smoke Jumpers zip line. As we passed by GRR it still only had 5 min. wait. Soarin' FP was still to long for us. :confused3

My observations-the BEST time to ride the rides at PP is in the evening when many people are lining up for WOC. We could have ridden most rides there several times before they closed the rides down-except of course for TSMM.
