Which rides are high capacity, low capacity, etc?

Is there a chart or other resource to figure out what capacity the different rides have? Or just tell me which ones you know about. So far I know that Peter Pan and Dumbo are low capacity and Pirates and HM are high capacity. I'm also interested in any of the CA rides. I was planning on using Ridemax but just discovered it doesn't work on Macs so I'm out of luck there. :sad1: I think I'm ok with figuring out rides for the first hour after rope drop (mostly FL), but not sure after that. On one of Hydroguy's tips on the last Ridemax thread he mentioned figuring out the ride capacity and using that knowledge to work out a plan. (Thanks Hydroguy for all of your great tips BTW!) Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Well, RideMax would be your best bet. Maybe you should buy a PC? ;)

Truthfully, I have been trying to get numbers for DLR ride capacity for over a year now and it is not readily available in print or the Internet. I have numbers for maybe 10-12 rides.

So here is a stab at some groupings of rides:

FASTPASS Rides:

These you know or can find out and capacity is not an issue because you just use FP.

Filler Rides (or rides that always have short lines and are best done close to mid-day):

At DL:

Tiki Room
HISTA
Mark Twain
Columbia Sailing Ship
Winnie the Pooh

At DCA:

ITTBAB
Animation Studios
TTwC
Golden Dreams

High Capacity Non-FP (lines build slowly and rarely get very long):

At DL:

POTC
HM
IASW
JC
ST
BLAB

At DCA:

Maliboomer
Monsters Inc
Orange Stinger

Low Capacity/High Demand (must ride early morning to get short wait - morning lines at DL influenced heavily by whether EE or TTMM happens that day)

At DL:

PP
Dumbo
FNSV
GGC
Mickey's House
Minnie's House

At DCA:

Sun Wheel

Low Capacity/Moderate Demand (lines can get fairly long mid-day, generally not too bad the first few hours or in the evening)

At DL:

Matterhorn
SLCB
Alice in Wonderland
Mr. Toad
Mad Tea Party
DLRR

At DCA:

None I can think of

Thank you, thank you!! This info helps a ton. I wonder why DL isn't more forthcoming with actual ride capacity info. Do you typically get FPs for all the FP rides for use later in the day--Do they all get pretty long lines by afternoon? How do you decided which FP ride to get a FP for first--just personal preference or is their another reason behind it? I think we will want to go on all the FP rides at least once, some more often like Space, Splash, & Buzz--our favorites. This is during what I imagine will be a fairly busy time in October, but not summer crowds for sure. We'll be there Wed. afternoon through Sat. afternoon in late October. Thanks again!

Go buy (or check out at your library) a copy of The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. It has all the ride capacity charts/descriptions as well as strategies and touring plans for various groups/times of the year, etc. It's always been our secret weapon; we've never had to wait in long lines.

Thanks Terri! I will have to check that out at the library. It's been a long time since I looked at one of those books and I didn't remember about the ride charts.

I get FPs for the most popular rides first. See "Which Fast Pass First? post #4 www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1107718

If it is summer, then Splash Mtn FP is important to get early. In winter it is not as popular for obvious reasons. Same for GRR at DCA.

My 2005 copy did not have ride capacities. I checked. It did have relative categories of how lines built.

When I say ride capacity, I mean how many riders per hour at peak. I know POTC can handle 3400. Several other rides at DLR can handle 2000-3000.
