DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR US
WE ARE TRAVELING WITH 2Y.O DD AND HAVE A 4 DAY HOPPER (STAYING OFF SITE AT BUENAVISTA SUITES) WHICH PARKS AND RIDES............
ANYTHING YOU COULD NOT DO WITHOUT WHILE TRAVELING WITH A YOUNG CHILD?


ANY ANSWERS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Just to get you started....Magic Kingdom is THE place for any child younger then 7-8, lots of characters. The new Toon Town (have not been there but it is geared for young ones).

The vets here can tell you much more but buy a guide book and read up on the Magic Kingdom, Birnbaums book will tell you what rides fit what age groups.

Probably everything in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom... especially these:

*It's a Small World
*Peter Pan's Flight
*Dumbo
*Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
*Mickey's Philharmagic
*Cinderella's Carousel
*the castle itself (maybe check into eating there)
*storytime with Belle (from Beauty and the Beast)

Also she might enjoy Goofy's Boot Stompin' Review in Frontierland. It has Woody and Jessie from Toy Story along with Goofy. And The Country Bear Jamboree also in Frontierland.

Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland. She might like the Jungle Cruise, also in Adventureland.


Also these attractions at Disney-MGM Studios:

*Playhouse Disney Live on Stage
*Beauty and the Beast show
*Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Probably not much at Epcot will interest her. She might like Animal Kingdom but probably not as much as MK and MGM.

The MK is best place for your 2yr old. Our DD's first trip was at the age of 2 and she loved it.

Go on: Dumbo
Peter Pan
Winnie the Pooh
Tommorrowland Transit Authority
Toon Town house (The Barnstormer will not be good)
Small World
Haunted Mansion (only if your child is not scared of the dark)
Pirates of the Caribbean (only if your child in not scared of the dark)

We did Epcot and MGM in one day with our 2 year old. But at the time we were not there as long as you will be. Take it slow and enjoy yourself. The parades are great and she will love them - the only problem is you have to wait and hour to have a good seat and that is the problem with a 2 yr old. We passed on the parades when DD was 2 and we are passing on them again this year because DD#2 will be 2yrs old.

During the parades, catch some of the rides, the lines will be shorter and that will be good, because the Fantasyland rides can get a little lengthy.

MK and AK are the best parks for that age IMHO.

MK: Dumbo, Teacups, Winnie the Pooh, Tiki Birds, Country Bears, Toon Town (the playground is an especially big hit)

AK: Safari, Boneyard playground, animal exhibits.

For my DS, the monorail was actually one of the more exciting things, along with meeting the characters.

One thing that you do have to watch out for is that a lot of attractions are dark, loud, and have may have things scary to a young child such as thunder and lightning. My son was terrified of the Tiki Birds the first time because they turned out the lights and he wasn't expecting it. He also didn't like (and at age 3.5 still does not) like any fireworks. Just pay attention to your child's sensitivities.

DS was almost 2 for his first trip and these are some of the things he really enjoyed:

MK - Buzz, Dumbo, Pooh, IASW (we had to ride it like 5 times ), Mickey's Philharmagic
Epcot - Imagination pavilion (he really liked the fountains), Living Seas
MGM - Playhouse Disney, Voyage of the Little Mermaid
AK - Safari, Flights of Wonder, Festival of the Lion King

My 2.25 year old loved AK and MGM much more than MK. Lots more characters with no lines (MK character lines were ridiculous, even in early December). He loved the Kilimanjaro Safari, Lion King show, Little Mermaid show, Muppet 4-D, Triceratops Spin (like Dumbo without the wait), and so on. The short Fantasyland rides didn't do much for him (a 3-4 minute ride after a 30-45 minute wait??), though Country Bear Jamboree was a huge hit and so was the Buzz ride and Tomorrowland Transportation Authority. So was watching the logs come down Splash Mountain!

My 2 1/2 year old loved Peter Pan, Goofy's Barnstormer, Triceratop Spin (AK), Safari (AK), Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo.

We just returned yesterday with DS who will be 2 next week. We did not go to MGM, and at Epcot he was asleep most of the time in his stroller. When he woke up, he loved The Living Seas. He also had a good time at the biergarten for dinner at Germany.

Despite many saying how much they loved AK, we thought it was a bust. It was very hot there (not much shade) and quite crowded (the walkways are so narrow). We did do the safari, which he liked ok, but other than that, we couldn't wait to get out of there. Whatever you do, don't go near Camp Minnie Mickey when a Lion King show is getting out. It is so crowded you can't move.

We had a great time at MK. DS liked It's a Small World, Pooh, and the Carrousel. He was a little unsure of Aladdin (we didn't do Dumbo, but they are very similar). He also enjoyed the train that circles the park. He LOVED the playground in Mickey's Toontown and LOVED meeting Mickey Mouse and Tigger and just walking around looking at everything.

Many people recommend the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, but don't mention that it gets quite dark! I did not know this, and although DS wasn't really crying, I could tell he was not too happy. I had to talk to him calmly through the whole thing. It goes through Space Mountain for quite some time.

There is also a small playground near the exit of Splash Mountain. It's very well-shaded and is a cool spot to wait if you are trading off with someone on Splash Mountain.

We went over Easter (parks were packed) with dd11, dd6, ds5, and dd2. The 2 yr old loved EVERYTHING. Parades were a huge hit with her. She waved at everyone in it, and got lots of extra attention. Blown kisses, hand shakes, hugs, etc. We took her on every single ride that allowed little ones her size. She didn't dislike any of them at all. I think she liked the World Showcase at EPCOT best. We took it very slowly, skipped the shows (but did the Mexico ride and the Norway ride). We selected our parade spots about 90 minutes early. Me and the kids would sit down on the sidewalk, while dh took dd2 for a diaper change. When they got back, he would go inside the nearest counter-service place and buy lunch/dinner for us all. Then we'd have a picnic. We had put stickers in the diaper bag, so if dd got antsy after eating, we gave her a sheet of those. She would decorate her stroller.

She watched shows, too, but the 3D ones she didn't always keep the glasses on. No complaints from her at all!

We watched her carefully, and did NOT stay at the parks if she was getting even a teeny bit tired. We usually never went back for fireworks. We'll catch those another year, when the kids are used to being up later.

We stuck with rides/shows with short lines, and went during a slow time of year. I didn't see why I should make my 2 year old wait 30-45 minutes for a 5 minute ride - that's too long for me, much less him! For the most part, you cannot take strollers in line, so you have to carry your toddler or keep him/her close. We did snacks in line (I don't like giving candy to my toddler) like a baggie of cheerios or raisins.

In some cases, one of you can stand in line with while the other goes and changes baby's diaper, lets him run around, whatever, and when you get towards the front of the line, the other can join you with baby. Some people might be annoyed by this, but they'd probably also be annoyed by a restless toddler for 30-45 minutes!!

We do this all the time for the Dumbo ride. One of us will wait in line and the other will take 3.5 y.o. DS to the carousel or to splash around at the fountains at Ariel's grotto. I can't see how anyone can get annoyed since the 3 of us will only take one Dumbo, so there is no harm done to anyone behind us. Unfortunately this doesn't work for all rides such as the Barnstormer, as access further up the line is impossible without walking past everybody already in line unless you try the exit ramp and coordinate with cell phone/walkie talkies.....hmmmm. LOL, actually my DS loves to watch the coaster go around, so the line and wait there is not bad.
