which restuarants can you watch illuminations from

I think I have read that the new La Hacienda restaurant at the Mexico Pavilion is a great place to watch Illuminations. Also, if you are eating at Tepan Edo, you can step outside on the balcony there and watch it.

Illuminations restaurant viewing

. . . Rose & Crown (patio) - Excellent View, from patio seating or standing
. . . La Hacienda - Excellent View
. . . Tokyo Dining - Good View (patio), but only a few window seats available
. . . Chef de France - Good View, but only a few window seats available
. . . Bistro de Paris - Partial View, but limited number of window seats
. . . Liberty Inn (patio) - Obstructed View

So you can't go on the balcony at Tepon Edo?

Teppan Edo is the back part of the restaurant. The front part of the restaurant is Tokyo Dining. TD has sushi and tempura stuff (according to the website). TE is like Benihana. I think that you can use the patio but I'm not 100% sure. We didn't have the greatest time at TE after being seated on our anniversary trip with someone else's kids.

Darn. Tepon Edo had good sounding food. and and ADR open.

Rose and Crwon has an ADR for 7 but Illuminations is at 9, is that doable?

Also for Chefs de france, is the only way to see it is to have a window seat?

Also what is Tempura?

Fried shrimp similar to what is usually in sweet and sour shrimp. And now that I think of it, the kids sitting by themselves at our table at TE did disappear for part of Illuminations.

Thanks. I am thinking of trying Tokyo dining. That looks pretty good too. I just hope that DD likes the food. If I can go out on the patio, then great. I am solely making an ADR to see illuminations. We have gone 3 times in the last few years and always leave before it, but if I have an ADR, then I can get my family to stay for sure, and we can enjoy it at the same time.

We had a really great view at La Hacienda and the food was also very good. They have a stellar selection of margaritas There were many window seats and most of the resturant would a have a fairly good view even if not sitting right at the window. They dimmed the lights and piped in the music during Illuminations.
