Hello!! I'm getting married in April, and we are going to Disney World for our HONEYMOON!! :woohoo: My fiance has never been there, and I havn't been there for about 10 years, so I was young and don't remember much! We are going to stay at Coronado Springs. We are going to do the dining plan! I need suggestions as to which restaurants to make our reservations! And places to avoid! I am interested in character dining, while my fiance is more interested in "grown up" places! :rotfl: Let me know what your favorites (and least favorites) are! Thanks!!

Just got back from my Disneymoon so I have some experience here.

One Credit meals I would recommend:
Spoodles - have a late dinner and ask for a seat out on the boardwalk (so pretty)
Chef Mickeys - breakfast with Charachters (yeah - I know it is an odd choice but tell them it is your Honeymoon and enjoy the surprises)
Marrakesh and Rose and Crown are also nice places to get away from it all.

Two-credit meals:
California Grill - hands down my favorite, get a reservation about an hour before Wishes and again tell them it is your honeymoon and ask for a window seat
Jiko - just a favorite or ours - low light and usually quiet - romantic

Beware the Luau at the Poly. We were the only Honeymooners and let's say it led to a very embarrasing moment. Of course I smile everytime I think of it. : )

I agree with the PP's suggestions -especially Spoodles and Jiko- and I'd like to add Ohana to the list, and maybe a breakfast at Kona Cafe. Have fun!!

Congrat's and best of luck to you both :)
1 TB= Chef Mickeys, Spoodles, Prime Time, Mamma Melrose, Tony's in the MK, Yak & Yeti in Ak.

2 TB= Cali Grill, Citrico's, Narcoossee's & Castle.

We went during our honeymoon, and had a memorable meal at Vicky & Al's. :thumbsup2 We also had a great time at 50's prime time where they took a picture of my DH and I feeding each other cupcake!

California Grill is definately at the top of my list of restaurants I want to try. I also think Jiko looks cool. How hard is it to get from resort to resort though? Will I be spending too much time on busses to get where I'm going??:confused3

Hi - Congrats - and I'm so excited for you!

Here's my recommendations from our Disneymoon (no - I do not have a good memory, I am DOCD :lmao: - and I have excel files of all our past and future ADRs)

Narcoosees
Grand Floridian Cafe
1900 Park Fare
Tony's Town Square
Brown Derby
Teppan Edo (then it was Mitsokushi Teppanyaki)
Mama Melrose
Rose and Crown

Make sure you tell the booking agent that you are there for your honeymoon. When we were seated for our ADR, our table was decorated with pixie dust in honor of the celebration! It was always really nice.

Pictures from our Disneymoon Dining: First two are at 1900 Park Fare Breakfast, and the last is at Tony's Town Square. (Gosh - I was tan!)

For my honeymoon next month we will be on DDP and going to Ohana while its crowded and busy its really cozy and I love the atmosphere, plus you can watch Wishes from your table they turn down the lights and pipe in the music.
San Angel its just romantic, it looks like nightime in a mexican village with the river and temple.
Coral Reef is also busy and loud but you can request a diver with a special note and personalized menus.
For a character meal I would do CRT dinner.. Its a castle whats not romatic about it?

How exciting! We went to Disney for our honeymoon in 2001 and had a wonderful time. (We've since been back for anniversary trips - and already have our anniversary trip for next year booked!)

Some of our faves include:

Jiko - (2TS) - went there for the first time on this past trip and loved it. It was also a nice place to go for a more adult atmosphere.

Ohana - (1TS) - this is DH's favorite. Since it's your honeymoon, request a seat by the window so you can watch Wishes from your table. (Make sure you have a later reservation, though - otherwise, it's nice to go out onto the boat dock at the Polynesian resort and watch the fireworks from there.)

Le Cellier - (1TS) - just really good food - fabulous steak. This books up FAST though. Like, book at 7am on your 180 day mark.

Narcoosee's - (2TS) - lovely waterfront views and great food. Plus, the lobster is great! Another lovely place to watch Wishes if you have a late enough reservation.

Boma - (1TS) - wonderful buffet and great new tastes to try. One of my favorites on property.

Don't be afraid to let them know that you're on your honeymoon - you'll get some special treatment. :goodvibes

(Since our trip next year will literally be right on top of our anniversary, I had them make a special note on our reservation.)

Congrats and have fun!

If you add it on to a day at Animal Kingdom it isn't too bad. Plus, Animal Kingdom Lodge is an attraction all it's own. Enjoy a walk around the resort before and/or after dinner.

I will admit that the last time we ate there while staying at another resort we took the bus over and a cab back. It was around $12 and highly worth it.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We also went to Disney on our Honeymoon 10 years ago! My suggestion would be Narcoossee's. Everything there was sooooo good that we have to go there every trip!! Happy Planning!:)

Disney Honeymooner here too .. way back in 1996!

I have to agree Narcoosee's and CaliGrill should be on the top of your list. Both are fantastic dining and make you forget your in the middle of WDW.

To make Narcoosee's even more special consider a wishes cruise after you dine .. one of the highlights of our last trip.

We've also had nice meals at:

Brown Derby (ask for the bamboo room in the back)
Wolfgang Puck Upstairs - great wine list
Yachtsman Steakhouse

When DW and I are dressed up for a special meal we just grab a towncar so we don't have to sit on the bus and feel ackward and DW can spend more time primping :)

I would recommend the following:

2 Points- Narcosse
Hollywood brown derby
Cinderella Castle for breakfast
Yachtsman Steakhouse

1 point- Chef Mickeys
Coral Reef

Enjoy. Make sure you tell them when you make your ADR;s that it is your honeymoon. Then remind them at the resturant when you check in

For our Honeymoon Trip

-Boma awesome meal after the wedding night lol
-1900 Park Fare
-Cinderellas Royal Table

It was awesome

For our 1 year anniversary

For our 2nd Anniversary we going to go to
Coral Reef Suprise DH doesnt know I booked the diver too

Ohanas
Le Cellier

Cape May Clam Bake
50s Prime Time

Thanks so much for everybodys recommendations!!! I am so excited I can't wait! I'm going to have to start and excel sheet so I can keep track of everywhere I want to make reservations for! DF thinks I'm nots for planning meals so far away!! haha!

So one more question, someone mentioned taking a cab from one resort to another. Are they just kinda driving around like NYC or do you have to call ahead of time to arrange for them to pick you up?

I would add Bistro de Paris and Artist Point. We just returned from our trip and I found Bistro de Paris outstanding. It was quiet and elegant. The service was superb and we were not rushed.

We took a cab to Artist Point from the Swan. The cabs were lined up at the entrance and the bell CMs just motioned one over for us.

We obviously ate many places during our honeymoon in 1994. The ONE PLACE that stands out is the Coral Reef. DW loves seafood, I don't. But I had a great steak and the experience dining next to the tank is not to be missed. Congrats ! :thumbsup2

A lot of really great restaurants were suggested. At the top of my list would be California Grill - we did our wedding dinner there and it was amazing!

But I do want to really recommend Cinderella's Royal Table. We went for breakfast, scheduling one of the last reservations before the park opened so we got several pictures in front of the castle with no one else there. Plus, since it was our honeymoon (and we told them that in advance), there was special confetti on our table and they gave us CRT champagne glasses as a present. It was a great meal and we were glad we went through the trouble to go there.

Also, make sure to get the "Just Married" buttons at guest relations when you get there! Have a great wedding and honeymoon!

Here is my list for our December honeymoon

Crystal Palace ... she loves Tigger
Chefs de France ... includes Candlelight Processional
Chef Mickeys
Artist Point
Boma ... followed by a showing of La Nouba
Victoria & Albert's ... wedding gift from some fellow Disney nuts
50's Primetime Cafe
California Grille ... timed to finish up just in time to see Wishes
Nacroossee's
Biergarten

I'm really looking forward to California Grille and Artist Point ... been saving them for my honeymoon for quite some time.
