We will be going in August and I was wondering which restaurants you all recommend going to in each park..I know about prime time cafe at mgm, but are there any others that are a must to eat at. Which ones do you need priority seating at. Thanks for your help!!!!! ::MinnieMo

I would say PS is a good idea at any table service restaraunt. It makes things easier and gives you peace of mind even if the restaraunt isn't busy. OK my favorite places...MGM, I love 50's primetime, if you want a good dessert try their peanut butter and jelly milkshake, I know it sounds unusual but it is very very good.

At Epcot it really depends on what your tastes are. My personal favorites are Le Cellier at Canada, great steakhouse, and the Rose and Crown Pub at UK, good food and great beer. There's something at Epcot for everyone though and all the restaraunts are good, just decide what you want to try.

Can't recommend much at MK or AK, we usually eat at counter service in those parks. There are some good restaraunts though.

Epcot-Le Cellier, PS Counter service Mexico, Rose and Crown-PS, America-counter service, Morocco-both restaurants are great
MGM- Mama Melrose-PS,
Magic Kingdom-do not miss the Crystal Palace-PS, Plaza Restaurant-PS, most of the counter service are good
Animal Kindom-we like Pizzaffari the one near where you get on the safari ride, can't remember the name
Have fun! For the time of year you are going Yes make PS, be open minded, we make PS for late lunches and do counter service for supper :earsgirl:

Crystal Palace @ MK is great. buffet character (pooh friends) meal. also while at the MK you could hop the monorail to the CR and eat @ Chef Mickey's. yet again another character meal, but these are soooo much fun. great food too. Poly & GF have some great places too.

For AK Rainforest Cafe is fun for the atmosphere. Food was ok service left some to be desired, but we enjoyed the experience and the break AK is a very hot park.

I agree with Disney Gator about epcot & PS, makes life easier.

If you haven't already gotten any books we recommend The Passporter it breaks down all the places to eat rates them and is a great planning tool for other things on your trip (lots of inside tips too). Also allearsnet has the menus which will help you as well. Good luck and hope that helps :wave2:

There is a restaurant forum, but oh well..... :rotfl:

MK: Liberty Tree Tavern, Cinderella's Royal Table. For counterservice, Cosmic Ray's and the Columbia Harbour House.

EC: Tangierine Cafe (Morocco), Chefs de France (France), San Angel Inn (Mexico), but really pretty much anywhere in the WS.

MGM: 50s Primetime Cafe, SciFi Dine In, Brown Derby.

AK: Flame Tree, Tusker House.

DISNEYDREAMS: I know you have probably heard some not-so-good things about this restaurant, but I absolutely LOVE the Sci-Fi Dine In. The atmosphere is AMAZING and the servers are really cool. I have only been brave enough to try just plain ol' hamburgers and fries. It was about $8 and there was plenty to slipt with my boyfriend. We made reservations, but I do not know if they were needed. It was pretty crowded though (this was last August). We are definitely going again next month! :Pinkbounc

Oh yeah, we sat in the back of a "car" with a family from the UK. Since there was only two of us, we were asked if we minded being "hitch-hikers." It was so funny. :rotfl:

Epcott....Garden Grill
MK...crystal Palace
MGM...I agree with SCi FI...it was wonderful
AK....I have only eaten at Rain forest cafe and Donalds Breakfastosaurus but was pleasantly pleased with the rain forest cafe

You might also ask on the restaurants board - they are expert eaters over there. Oh, I hope that did not sound bad. :duck:

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch or dinner)
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Plaza Restaurant (lunch)

MGM - Sci-Fi (lunch)
Hollywood Brown Derby (lunch or dinner)
Prime Time Cafe (lunch or dinner)

Epcot depends on what type food you like. AK only has one full service restaurant - Rainforest Cafe

Wow, I'm surprised so many people are agreeing with me about recommending the SciFi Dine-In. I have read such bad reviews about it, but I guess it doesn't matter! I LOVE it, too! :lovestruc

We LOVE Sci-Fi. We've only gone there for lunch and it's mostly burgers and shakes but they were really good and the atmosphere can't be beat! It makes me and DH nostalgic, and its the only chance my kids will ever have to know what a drive-in was like (except they are not in their pajamas!). Its one of our "can't miss". We go every trip.

YAY! I am glad to hear that other people love SciFi as much as me. I was never able to go to a *real* drive-in (I'm 22), but I LOVE the atmosphere. It is so inventive and the CMs do a great job keeping the theme going. Like you, I have only been there for lunch and it tastes great to me! The hamburger and fries is always enough for me and my boyfriend to split so it's a good money saver. Maybe I will see you there one day!

MK--Crystal Palace character breakfast; Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station--great counterservice, as is Cosmic Ray's.

Epcot--Le Cellier--loved the French Dip on the lunch menu. Alfredo's--great dinner, esp. the fettucine; Morocco has great counterservice and the French bakery has heavenly pastries.

MGM--Backlot Express has good counterservice. The food is pretty basic but it's still very tasty.

AK--Tusker House has good counterservice

check out menus at www.allears.com

MK : Liberty Tree Tavern (Sit-Down)
Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays (El Pirate if it's open) (Fast food)

MGM : Brown Derby (Best Sit-Down Meal in any park)
Sci-Fi (Burgers or dessert only)

Epcot : Le Cellier (Sit Down)
Electric Umbrella (Fast-food)

AK : Flame Tree BBQ (Fast Food)

Can't recomend the only sit down at AK - Rainforrest Cafe. I find it over priced and the food mediocre at best. Some people really love it though!

Good luck!

We have a few must does everytime we go. Makes it harder to try new things but we cannot get rid of them. Le cellier for lunch is my favorite meal. We also do whispering canyon, ohanas, beaches n cream, kona, and caseys. We have some others we do most of the time but those are everytime.

swilphil- I know exactly what you mean about the french dip at le cellier. It is my favorite meal to get in all of disneyworld. If they were just a little cheaper I would get two.
