Which Restaurant should go?

If you're on the Dining Plan and want to do breakfast buffets, I highly recommend paying OOP for them. For example, Chef Mickey's is $18.99 per Adult...remember, the meal plan is costing you $38 per day. You won't be getting your moneys worth if you use a TS credit to pay for buffet breakfasts.

I would definitely cut out Chef Mickey's dinner and even Sci Fi dinner. I have been to CP dinner a bunch of times and loved it. But the last time I went was a couple of years ago, so who knows how it is now.

I agree with what a previous poster said...whatever you do, DO NOT CUT OUT LE CELLIER!!!!!!!!!

Hoop De Do, is much better than Whispering Canyon .

I would certainly cancel Chef Mickey. We were there once for dinner and hated it. The food was terrible and even the characters seemed to be in a hurry during picture-taking. We tried it again on another trip and nothing had changed.:sad2: On the other hand, my whole family loved Hoop de Doo. The show was entertaining and the food was great.:thumbsup2

I would do Hoop Dee Doo, My 4 year old daughter loves it, we go every year. My 6 year old son says he hates it, but we always catch him laughing and clapping under the table. It is alot of fun for everyone.

hoop dee doo will certainly fit the LOUD requirement :) Food is identical to that at Trail's End next door....Trail's End does a breakfast buffet which is a bit cheaper and we enjoy it.

We're doing Chef Mickey's for dinner this time around - I guess I'm the lone wolf in this thread.....and I would not cancel Crystal Palace. I don't think I'd do 2 Chef Mickey's buffets though.

I'm assuming you checked menus when selecting.....as an adult I like Ohana - my kids do not like the food (I have a child who is an "adult" my DDP standards). We have the same issue at Coral Reef - GREAT place BUT my child who is an adult does not like anything on the adult menu and for what we pay for his DDP it's not worth it to have him eat a kids' meal.

Enjoy your trip!:wizard:

We are also doing chef Mickeys this year, it is another one that we do every year, but if I had to pick wich my kids have more fun at i would go with the hoop dee doo

I know this thread should be at the dining thread. However, this is the only place i can post.

I need to cancel two of my ADR's. I have ADR's for Crystal Palace (D), Sci-Fi (D), Akershus Royal Table (B), Hoop De Do, Chef Mickeys (D), Chef Mickeys (B and planning to pay oop), Coral Reef (d), Ohan's (d), Whispering Canyon (D), and Les Celliar (D).

I am on the DDP and can have 7 TS meals. I am planning to pay for Chef Mickeys (B) out of pocket because this is the cheapest meal of all. I may also pay for one more OOP.

I had a reservation for 50's primetime, but have already cancelled it due to a friend who has been their several times and gave it bad reviews. She said its the luck of the draw with your waiter. I also thought that everyone was seated at a kitchen setting. My friend told me that their were only about 8 of these. Everyone else sits at regular booths. I was not crazy about the food. I just was wanting to go for the atmosphere. Can anyone give me their view of the 50's.

I am also a little unsure of eating at Hoop de and then eating at WCC. It seems the food is about the same. Any suggestions. I really want to do both. I know that you can order off the menu, but the skillet seems to be the best deal. However, i do love BQ.

Also, of the ADR's that i have, which two would you cancel?

Chef Mickeys is not my favorite for dinner at all. Like a PP stated...yuck! It is doable for breakfast tho.

WE LOVE 50's PT! There are more than 8 of the kitchen areas, but yes alot are booths. But I have never had a BAD time there. It is a family fav. We skipped it last time and the kids were upset. If you do go I recommend the herb cheese!!!

We have never done Hoop Dee Doo but I hear great things about it! Just remember it is 2 TS credits. WCC on the other hand...up until this past trip it was my DH's favorite place. We all enjoyed it but he loved it. They took the steak off the menu and he was not impressed with what he did get. The service was good but I think we knew more of the "jokes" than he did...lol.

With OHana...I loved it but my family could have cared less!

Coral reef...we all liked it really well!

Crystal Palace...we have only done breakfast...This is one we have done every trip since we started going as a family.

Sci Fi is one that I would change to maybe do a lunch and pay oop. We do this one becasue it is a kid fav, but we usually just grab a burger or grilled chicken sandwich.

That is all I can really help with. Have a great trip & enjoy your choices!!!

My DD14 has been an "adult" for a few years now but doesn't really like
the adult menu's. She does order off the childs menu sometimes but they bring her out adult size portions. Granted it is still alot of $$ for chicken strips but at least she was given enough to get full. Being on the DDP she still gets to order off the adult apps and dessert...well up until this year anyway. Now just the desserts!
