We are planning to double dip on our 3 night cruise so that we can visit Palo without missing another restaurant.

We will be eating in Palo around 6pm and then again at our dining rotation at 8:30pm. We will be adjusting our dining rotation if necessary when we get on the ship.

Which restaurant would you recommend for double dipping? Which is the most stomachable after a huge dinner at Palo? or maybe which is the least great of the three and therefore wouldn't be the end of the world if we were too full to eat much there?

My vote would be double dip on Parrot Cay night. That is always my least favorite menu.

we did this on one of our cruises but in the reverse order-dinner early sitting, palo's as late as we could get (p.s. palo will wrap up dessert to go-so if you are feeling a bit too stuffed but can't resist-just ask them to wrap it up so you can have it with coffee later or the next morning for breakfast :goodvibes )

look around for a recent navigator with menus. you can decide based on the menu. i have found that there are very similar menus offered at the restaurants each night (one might call a dish by one name but it is almost identical to the other's offering). more than anything (in my opinion-esp. if this is your first cruise)-the one place you do not want to miss is animators palate. it amazes me that not only the restaurant and the waitstaff are in black and white at the begining but so are the condiments and foods!. if all else fails and you fear being overly stuffed, just order a couple of appetizers and soup or salad from the main dinner menu.

keep 'em coming guys, its really useful to know. This cruise is our first so I've got no experience to base my decision on!

I was also going to suggest Parrot Cay night. It is my least favorite menu, and we usually go to Palo on this night. Take a look at some of the sample menus to get an idea of what they serve.

I have always found it hard to decide what I want at Animator's Palate and Triton's/Lumiere's...because I like so many things. But have had the opposite problem at Parrot Cay. It really depends on your tastes and what you like to eat.

Palo is amazing!! Order several desserts they are TDF!!!!

ETA: I just realized you said it was your first cruise...you definitely have to go to Animator's Palate, don't miss that one!!!!

We're just the opposite. We double-dip on AP night as we don't want to miss the show, but are not too crazy about their menu.

Whatever you decide, I think you're doing the right thing by not missing any of the dining rooms. We're going to do our 4th DCL cruise in November, and we still double-dip, as the dining rooms have always been so much fun. :earsgirl: (magic tricks from the waitstaff, pirate night fun, DD enjoying new friends at the table.) I hope we're just as lucky this trip.

Do follow up on the suggestions to find the menus on-line and see for yourself, as what you like or dont like may be a matter of personal preference. But on the Wonder this year, we had the pirate menu and the three basic restaurant menus, and I remember looking over the PC menu the final night, and just ordering the strip sirloin that is an available default every night in every restaurant. Don't miss the AP show, it is part of the DCL core set of experiences, IMHO.

I've not done a 3 nighter--dont you lose one of the restaurant's menus because of pirate night? So depending on rotation, it could be any of the three? Or am I mistaken about how the pirate menu works on the 3 night. Pirate night was very new when we sailed the Wonder in January, we were on the second ever Wonder cruise w/ Pirate night (and they have already changed the 4 night rotations since then).
