My DH and I are traveling with DS (2) the week of Thanksgiving. We just found out that relatives will watch DS one evening so we can do something on our own. If you could choose one restaurant to eat at what would it be??

My top picks would be BlueZoo at the Dolphin or Flying Fish at Boardwalk.

They are both convienent to us since we usually stay at the Swolphin. It's nice to go for a stroll around Crescent Lake after dinner. Sometimes we catch the high fireworks from Illuminations from the Boardwalk area, but you could always plan dinner early enough to go into Epcot to watch them if you wanted to.

You didn't say where you were staying, which for some people could be an issue (travel time between resorts being a factor when you have a babysitter)
If you have a car, not so much of an issue.

Also, if you are on the dining plan, BlueZoo would have to be paid for OOP. If on the DDP, how many credits do you want to use?

Food likes & dislikes play into it too.

BlueZoo is always my first choice.

Odds are there will be very few children, but expect a couple.

You will find kids at every Disney restaurant and you probably want a break from that.

Also the food is far better than anything Disney serves.

We love Jiko at the AKL. It is a beautiful, quiet restaurant with delicious food, excellent service and a wonderful wine list.
Take time to explore the AKL while you are there. It is a beautiful resort.
Enjoy

When we've had the same situation in the past, DH and I went all out and enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at V&A. Other restaurants I'd recommend would be the Bistro (upstairs in the France pavilion), Jiko, Artist Point, or Citricos.

This year my DH and I are giving Shulas a try. We've always wanted to check out the restaurants at the Dolphin/Swan and never done it before. Our kids are now 15 and 11, but it's still nice to have 1 evening without them. ::MinnieMo

In no particular order:
Artist point
California Grill
BlueZoo
Il Mulino
Shula's
Bistro de Paris

My top 3, Citricos, Flying Fish and Cali Grill

Victoria & Albert's, far and away my first choice.

After that, Jiko, Bistro de Paris, or Artist Point.

Shula's. You get also get certificates for most of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants at restaurant.com. Make sure to dig up a discount code for even cheaper pricing. I think I paid $4 for my $25 Kimono's coupon.

In this order:

Victoria & Alberts
bluezoo
Bistro de Paris
Il Mulino
Citricos

If you are looking for a truely memorible evening, Victoria & Alberts is the place. It is absolutlely amazing. It is very expensive, but its also included in TIW discount if you have one. We have been 2x, once on our honeymoon and then again last August. This December our night out will be Jiko since we are staying at AKV, and don't want to travel for dinner.

Also, if your looking just to have a fun time on a kids-free evening, you might want to try hitting the World Showcase at Epcot and try drinks from around the world, with a bunch of different foods.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. We are staying at Sarotoga Springs and will have access to a car. We will not be on the dining plan. Now I need to discuss with DH and see what he will be interested in. While the suggestion of venturing around Epcot and drinking around the world is very tempting I will be 25 weeks pregnant at the time :(

One more question if you guys were to also hit a park too what would be your suggestion for dinner and a park??

If you want the most romantic with the best food and service, our choice is Narcoossees. If you want the romance of the BW afterward, Flying Fish is an excellent choice. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Epcot is our favorite Park. It always has been, but even more so now that we are essentially empty nesters. So my choice would be BlueZoo or Flying Fish followed by a stroll around World Showcase & viewing Illuminations.

At either restaurant, you would just park for dinner & walk into Epcot thru International Gateway - when you are done, you can just walk back to your car & head back to Saratoga Springs.
