We will be in Disney for our anniversary which is 10/28. We would like to do an adult only dinner that night. I have narrowed it down to; Narcoosee's, Flying Fish, or The California Grill. I have never been to any of these restaurants. My husband is very picky and resistant to try new foods. I'm afraid the "fancy" food may scare him a little. He is sort of a meat and potatoes kind of guy. He does like seafood though. Which do you think would be a good choice for us. We will be on the dining plan, so cost isn't an issue. They are all 2TS credits. I welcome any different restaurant suggestions as well.

HAPPY ANNINVERSARY:cool1:
Well we did this last April for our 25th . I sound like your DH & you sound like my DH. LOL
Anyway we went to
Cali Grill Loved it :worship:
Narcoossee's Loved it
Citricos Loved it
V & A Very nice did it for DH hard for me. lol

Have a great trip.

I haven't been to any of those restaurant's but based on the Menu's I think Narcoossee's looks the most appealing based on your description of DH. There is Filet, Surf and Turk, etc there for him. I wonder if you are looking for something more adventurous for yourself though because the other restaurant's seemed more diverse to me.

I'm sure you will get a ton of good suggestions though. Good luck and have fun!

we have not eaten at Narcoosie or calif grill. Our trip to the flying fish was noisy and I was surprised at the large number of children there.

We LOVE Artist Point. Always quiet and excellent food.

We also do adult dinner at the Brown Derby. We have always gotten a nice big booth for just the 2 of us and have had awesome waiters. The waiters seem to really enjoy serving quiet couples who appreciate the food and want to just enjoy the atmosphere and not be in a hurry to get back to the park.

We dined at Narcoossee's on our last trip and absolutely loved it. There wasn't a single thing we didn't love. It's beautiful and romantic. The food was fantastic. The view was out of this world. And we both said that it would be the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.

I will admit, however, that I haven't been to the other two places. But Narcoossee's pretty much swept our breath away, so I couldn't imagine going elsewhere for our anniversary if we were at WDW.

Are you my DH? :rotfl: I agree with everything you said. FF is very loud. AP is quieter & also has great food. Our best meal last trip was HBD. We haven't tried CG or Narcoossees either. We'll be going to CG in May. I'll post our thoughts on how we think it compares with the others, when we return. ;)

Given what you said about your DH's preferences, I'd go with Narcoosees. The food isn't as fancy/complex as the other signature restaurants, there's lobster and surf & turf on the menu, and the atmosphere is lovely. The food at California Grill is excellent but a bit fancier and the atmosphere was a little louder and more bustling.

Another one you might want to consider is Artist Point, if the menu looks appealing. Of the signature restuarants we've tried (all of them except Flying Fish and Citricos), Artist Point had the quietest, most romantic atmosphere.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions so far. Right now i'm leaning toward Narcoosee's. Keep the suggestions coming.

ON that list, right now...there is only one option, especially the way you describe your hubby.

Flying Fish.

They have the best steak on disney property, ask for the sauce on the side.
The seafood is outstanding.

We loved Shulas at the Dolphin! We have been there for a few special occasions and we have never had a bad meal. Nice aumbieance, not noisy, great steak, seafood, dessert and wines. A bit pricey but we thought worth it!

Your DH's food preferences sound a lot like my DW's (except that she doesn't like seafood either). We both really enjoyed Narcoossee's. (I'll also add to those voting for Artist Point to be added to the consideration list.)

If you time the ADR right you can also see the Electric Water Pageant while eating and step out on the balcony for a first rate view of Wishes (our dinner at Narcoossee's is the only time I've been able to hear the whole Wishes sound-track).

:thumbsup2 Love the CA Grill and do it every year when we go to Disney. The steaks are great. My 71 year old Alabama born and raised father who is very conservative and only likes his steaks in a purist fashion--not marinated--loved it. In fact when they got home had made Mama buy square glasses like those they used for our drinks. It is busy and at times noisy, service has always been top notch. The fireworks are great so if you do it be sure you ask when the FW go off that evening and try to be there then. They are great about working around people going out to see the FW. Definitely get a flat bread--terrific. Request to be seated in the wine room--it is off to the side and just a few tables--much more quiet.

Have a great time:banana:

We LOVE Narcoossee's! We also love Cali Grill, but it seems a little more foo foo than Narcoossee's. Narcoossee's seemed more relaxed to us and the food is awesome!

I've been to all three - but I've been to CG the most. For an expensive dinner, may as well go for the gold - best views, service and FOOD :thumbsup2

Of the 3, I'd do California Grill first, simply because the view and the food add up to a nice meal. FF would be my second choice, followed by Narcoossee's.
Be prepared for noise and/or lots of kids at all 3.

I'd have to agree with Uncleromulus (we usually do agree). Ca Grill has a view that is out of this world. I think the food is better overall at Flying Fish but it doesn't have the view (however you could stroll the Boardwalk after).

CG and Narcoosees are the most popular signature restaurants and usually have a lot of children dining there so if you are looking for adults only environment, you may not find it. All 3 of these restaurants are pretty noisy.

We were at Narcoosees for our anniversary dinner last July and loved it! We were seated at a window table. We were given personalized menus, anniversary buttons, and complimentary glasses of champagne. The food was delicious. We were there during Wishes and went outside to watch - they pipe in the music during the fireworks. I also had ordered special desserts ahead of time that were personalized for us. I highly recommend Narcoosees. It was a very special and memorable evening.
