I would like to plan a romantic dinner for DH and myself when we go down in March. We were going to do V and A'a but really it's way out of league budget wise. We will be celebrating 5 wonderful years together and a possible vow renewal as well. What would you suggest?

Edited to Add....

I think of romantic as just the two of us having a wonderful meal together. Maybe a little on the quiet and soft side.

Romantic means different things to different people. Some restaurants that folks find romantic include Citricos ,Narcoossee's, California Grill, Yachtsman's Steakhouse, Palio, Bistro de Paris, Artist Point and even San Angel Inn. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

What makes it romantic for you? Quiet or cozy or soft lighting or.....? We could probably help you more if we knew that.

You might get more reponses if you add romance or romantic to your title. :sunny:

Have fun deciding!

After you get suggestions check out the menus on allears.net to see which appeals the most to you. I understand that Blue Zoo is really beautiful. Disney also has special dining (private dining) you can arrange to have in your room. Might be really nice if your staying somewhere with a balcony and a nice view. We stayed at the Yacht club and on our balcony we could see the EPCOT fireworks. We had a bottle of champagne and sat on the balcony it was wonderful. We did the same thing at the contemporary. We had a fabulous view of the castle and sat sipping champagne and eating h'orderves(sp?) as we watched the castle change colors. We usually went to the liquor store and bought our own bottle of champagne ~much less expensive. We iced it before dinner and it was perfect!! One of our most romantice dinners was a buffet!! It was at Boma and the AKL really brought back memories of our honeymoon in Africa. So you can find romance in the most unlikely places. Have fun.

We went on our huneemoon in June. We had a nice dinner everynight, but by far the most romantic, and the "official romantic dinner" of the huneemoon was Bistro de Paris. I'd never really eaten at a French restuarant before, but this one was worth the $200 we spent. You don't need to go whole hog like we did, but, like I said, it was a very special occasion. And the food and service were second to none.

Citrico's! The food is wonderful, atmosphere is upscale and elegant, and service is exceptional. It seems to be off the radar for msot families with kids, so it's quieter and not as frazzled.

We've had several very romantic dinners there, and it's about 1/2 the cost of V&A's.

If not V and A's, Citrico's is a great alternative.

Agree!!! Citricos. Our meal for 2 came to $134. If that's still out of price range... let us know what your price range is....

Some other good choices:

Epcot:
Le Cellier
Coral Reef
San Angel

MK:
CRT

MGM:
Brown Derby

Check out allearsnet for menus to see what matches your taste.

Hope you have a great time!!

epcot world showcase is full of great restaurants. bistro de paris, intimate restaurant with tables for 2 on the second floor of the france pavilion. le cellier steakhouse, canada pavilion cozy stone restaurant with a fireplace, superb food we love their salmon, filet mignon & cheese soup, yummy.

at the resorts artist point overlooking the creek & forest at wl, narcossees at the gf view of mk from the lower window tables & the fireworks from the terrace, palio at the swan good italian food & strolling musicians.

have fun on your anniv trip!

Epcot:
Le Cellier Not romantic--lots of kids IMHO
Coral Reef Iffy food, again, lots of kids
San Angel Worst meal in terms of food and service I've ever had anywhere in my life
MK:
CRT Loaded with kids, atmosphere is beautiful, but too many kids, and hardly on teh quiet/soft side

MGM:
Brown Derby Possibly, but closes too early for an "adult" dinner much of the year

Hope you have a great time!!

Bistro is nice, however the tables are so close together that you might as well be sharing one with the people next to you. Chef's, Le Cellier are both loaded with kids and can get loud. Artists Point is beautiful, and if you hit it right there won't be many kids and the noise will be low. But hit it wrong, and the place is on the moisy side with lots of kids. It might be my second choice. Palio and Narcooses we've had such bad srevice issues that we won't be going back--it wasn't a one time problem with service as an FYI, these were over multiple issues. Palio is very nice, but I just can't get past the LOUSY service which was so bad it ruined the meal the last two times we ate there.

I would recommend either Jiko or Artist Point, especially if you make a later seating where you have a better chance of less children in the restaurant. They both have atmosphere, good food, and nice wine lists. Plus, the tables are a little further apart than some of the other places.
