DH & I are deciding which place to go for dinner when we first get there. Our flight arrives around 6:30 PM so we'll be hungry.

Which one would you choose and why?

Thanks.

Between the two I would choose Granvilles. It is more of a steakhouse and the atmosphere is nicer. But if you are looking to spend that type of money then I would definitely go to the Napa Rose instead. The food is excellent and if you like wine then you will not be disappointed. Have a good time.

We have been to both and did not really care for either...sorry.
But Catal gets great reviews and I know a lot of locals love it. I think we just ordered the wrong thing and I KNOW we had a bad waiter, it is funny how bad service can ruin a good meal. Anyway, Granvilles was good steak you could make at home for exorbanent (spelling?) prices. Note I said good....not delicious, superior, great or even execellent.

Have your thought about Hooke's Point, Napa Rose, Ralph Brennens, or House of Blues?

Now those places we all really enjoyed:)

Lyn-Ca, sorry to go off on such a tangent.
Have a great meal and trip whatever you decide.

Hi! I just returned from Disneyland last night. We (dh, ds(11), and myself) had a wonderful, yes expensive, but wonderful dinner Wed. night at Granville's Steakhouse. We did not eat at Catals so I can not compare. Although we did not eat there, I agree Nappa Rose looked real nice, too. If my 11 year old was not with us, I think my husband and I would have enjoyed Nappa Rose.

We had a delicious crab cake appetizer and Rock popcorn shrimp which were also great at Granville's. We all thought our steaks were very good. I am sorry lulubelle had a bad experience there. I have to say we really enjoyed Granville's and would go back again. Good Luck in your decision making. I understand you being hungry when you arrive, but if you are going to spend that much money (26-32 dollars) just on the steak,
I would recommend if you think you will be tired when you arrive, maybe save the special dinner for another night if you have it, so you can really enjoy it. I know if my flight arrived at 6:30 and by the time I arrived to the hotel and got settled, I would be pretty tired. Then again we were flying from NY. Sorry, just my thoughts. If your up to it, then def. go for it. I think if you choose Granville's, you will enjoy it. Good luck and have fun!!:D
