I was looking over the menus and Big River GRilole and Spoodles both look good. Can anyone share their experiences with either place?

I asked this over on the transportation board, but I'll add it here too. I've never been to Boardwalk. Is it a regular resort? Is there shopping, entertainment there, similar to DTD? Do buses run from other resorts there or just from parks and DTD? Thanks for any help
!

I cannot comment on BRG other than DH wanted a burger at BWI pool. So, they got it from BRG. It was Big and good, but also about $17. Oh, well.

We love Spoodles. We've been going there for over 10 years and love the cuisine. It's a must do for us on our trips.

Buses do not run there from other resorts. DTD and the parks are your bus options. Also, if you happen to be at MGM or Epcot WS, you can take a boat to Boardwalk (or walk, especially from Epcot International Gateway). I love Spoodles, so that would be my choice of the two restaurants you mentioned. As far as shopping at the Boardwalk, it is not like DTD, but rather a store on the Boardwalk with general Disney merchandise and grocery items for people staying in the villas there. There is also a store at the ESPN restaurant. Entertainment is outdoors on the Boardwalk like jugglers, etc. like on the Boardwalk in NJ, supposedly (I've never been to Atlantic City). It is a beautiful resort and worth a visit.

Of the two you mentioned, I'd go to Spoodles. I've had one too many bad service experiences at Big River Grille and decided that there were so many other places to eat at WDW there wasn't a reason to go back to the BRG.

If you're open to other suggestions at Boardwalk, the ESPN sports bar has a very good burger - but can be a bit loud. Flying Fish has really interesting decor, and the menu is equally interesting - but is a bit pricy.

I would rate the restaurants on the Boardwalk in this order.

1. Flying Fish
2. Spoodles
3. ESPN
4. Big River Brew Works

Flying Fish is an excellent fine dining experience, and Spoodles is fantastic as well. ESPN makes good burgers and wings types of things if that is what you are in the mood for, but we did not like Big River too much. The tables inside are practically on top of each other, and I really don't like that. You can sit outside though, and on a summer night, it might be nice to watch the scene on the Boardwalk

We liked Big River Grille. We did it one night when it was still fairly early in the evening (5:30) and it wasn't crowded. Sat outside and we each had a burger and went on our way.
You can not do PS there.

Spoodles would be my vote. Also if you have DDE BRG doesn't except.

We stayed at BWV last year. We liked it, but I don't think it's all that it's cracked up to be (but we have small kids and probably miss all the real action! :rotfl: ) Usually when it first gets dark there are some performers and they are pretty funny and entertaining. There is some shopping, but IMO it's the same as everywhere else. They have a dueling piano bar and Atlantic Dance Hall (we haven't been to either). We have eaten at Big River Grill & Brewery...nasty, nasty, nasty. Now that's our opinion..others like it. I would go there for a beer..maybe. All our food was burnt and they weren't even close to being friendly. I RARELY complain about restaurants, too. Sppodles looked interesting..I haven't gone in, but we did order pizza from the window and we didn't like that either. We love NY type pizza and it wasn't close. Cape May Cafe at BC is very good as is B & C, and the Boardwalk is close to Epcot and MGM.
