Sorry, I don't know about the DDP counts, but I do know that you get a fantastic, yummy meal at Mama Melrose's! It's a good value for the meal, lovely and calm inside. I would recommend the steak with the gorgonzola. (and you might stay away from the desert with the ice cream rolled in cracked expresso beans - it sounds fantastic, but didn't seem to work. Stick with tiramisu or gelato)

I voted for H&V. Your son is about the same age as ours, and he enjoyed the choices and especially liked the desserts when we did the H&V Fantasmic dinner package last year. Think it also depends on whether or not you're on the dining plan and if those restaurants are all the same # of TSs. We paid out of pocket, and H&V is the least expensive, and was O.K. for us, but not super food.

The Brown Derby is 2 TS credits. I have not eaten at H&V in a while, but we always love Mama Melrose.

We did the Brown Derby and loved it. If you're on the DDP it may not be worth it, but you didn't mention the plan in your post. We are trying MM this Aug, but would do the Brown Derby if it wasn't 2TS cresits.

WE've done both HV & MM. My fav is MM but the DDs (8&11) and DH really like HV. Either would be great. We're trying BD in June. Have fun . . . it's the best way to see Fantasmic!

I voted for H&V. The last two times that we've gone to Fantasmic we have eaten at H&V, and really enjoyed the selection they had at their buffet. I've also eaten at Brown Derby, and even though they have some goodies for the younger set, I think the price is way out of whack.

I thought that H&V was a good value, and I have a fairly pick DD who is 5, and even she found something to munch on.

I'm sorry to say that I cannot comment on Mama Melrose's as we have not eaten there at any time.

I don't like the Fantasmic package. The seats aren't good. On a scale of Good, Better, Best...they would be in the "good" category. If it rains, you lose your money.

I picked H&V because that's where I'd go.

Brown Derby has frou-frou food, which I don't like much. But people who like that kind of stuff rave about it, so I'm sure if you're into that it'd be great.

I also like MM, I just think your DS would like H&V more.

Well, you don't actually "lose your money". Granted, you might not have choosen to eat at one of these places but you do get dinner for your money.

Oh noooooo! 11 trips to WDW and I just tried this restaurant for the first time on my last trip a couple weeks ago. We all loved it, including my 6yr old DD. I would hate to see this restaurant gone, it's now one of my favorites!

We did H & V in August and it was a good choice. Everyone was happy because it was a buffet and we could all pick our own food. The kids loved making their own dessert (sundaes). We were not on the dining plan, and H & V was the most inexpensive Fantasmic meal, which was another plus.

For Sept. I have an ADR for MM. I wanted to try something different, and since it's free dining I don't have to worry about the cost.

I don't think I'd use 2 table credits for Brown Derby.
