Hi,

Can you tell me which resorts have enough room to put an air matress on the floor. I don't think there is enough room at the all-stars or even animal kingdom lodge.

Has anyone used air matresses at any of the Disney Resorts.

We used one for our 15 yr old DD at CSR, it fit in between the 2 double beds. In the morning we just set it up against the wall. It worked out great, less fighting between two DD's.....

We used a twin aerobed in our room at the Dolphin for our 3 1/2 yr old dd. We put it where the desk was (and moved the desk by the window)...and draped a sheet to the curtain and attached it to the door amoire door so she had her little tent at night and at naptime. She loved it:)

What a great question! I am thinking of doing the same thing for our trip in January 2003. I am considering purchasing a twin sized Aero Bed. We are travelling with out 21 y.o. DD and 18 y.o. DS. I thought they could take turns sleeping on the Aero Bed.
Figment
P.S. I will be posting this question on the Orlando Hotel Board also because we may be booking at one of the DD hotels, not sure yet.

Why not simply book a room with bunkbeds at either AKL or WL? Problem solved.

I think it depends on the size of the air mattress. If it's a twin then I think it would fit in any room, except the All Stars. ;) We considered doing that for our 2 year old, but then he ended up sleeping on the couch instead.

the CR rooms all have a day bed. Some PO rooms have trundle beds, and as stated before some of the resorts have bunk beds. I think I would use one of those options instead of bothering with an air matress.

I do have a bunk bed room requested at the WL during our Thanksgiving stay, but I was also thinking of taking a single sized Aerobed along in case we end up with two queen sized beds. Both boys move around alot at nighttime and DH and I cannot stand sleeping with them. IMHO, it's better to be safe than sorry, since 7 nights of restless sleeping will not make it a "magical" vacation for us.

Good idea to bring it just in case. We have requested bunkbeds before and not gotten them.:D

gepetto - That's my fear since we will be staying over a holiday period. I figure if we use it, great, if we don't need it, maybe I can return it since we already have a full-sized one we use at home.

It probably also makes a difference if you drive or fly to WDW. It's very easy for us to put the aerobed bad in our trunk each trip since we drive. It would be extra luggage if you fly.

But, I must say my dd slept great on the twin aerobed. She had problems sleeping at home in her bed for a few weeks prior to our last trip. She made up for her pretrip sleep loss when we got to WDW on the aerobed. I purchased the bed not sure if we'd keep it, but now I'm glad we have it:)

This was our first trip with her that she didn't use the resort crib which she did like by the way. This worked out even better. (we also enclosed her area when she was in the crib)

I used an air mattress last year at Port Orleans Riverside. We were there for 10 nights and I have a bad back. Most often hotel mattresses (yes even the ones at Disney) are not comfortable for me. I brought a Coleman twin size air mattress (which fit in my large suitcase quite nicely, along with a fitted sheet and a light blanket), and a hair dryer with a cold setting. I used the hair dryer with the adapter that came with the mattress to inflate the mattress. I only had to add air once during the 10 nights. Each night we moved the table and chairs so that they were in front of the window and the mattress was against the wall between the window and the TV cabinet. During the day, the mattress slid right under the bed. I have stayed at POR before and had trouble with my back. I can honestly say, I slept better during this stay than I ever had before. I would not hesitate to do this again.

hi: we've used a full size air mattress at bwv in the lr of the 1br units for teens and a 30yo who didn't want to share the sofa bed.

We also use an air mattress at okw with a 1 br. There is plenty of room. There are only 4 of us, but the kids can't stand to sleep together.

I second that. At OKW there is tons of room in a 1 bedroom. My two sons will not sleep together so they take turns; one on the sleeper sofa and the other on the floor with the air matress. They have no problem with it. Its a lot tighter in a 1br at the Boardwalk or Wilderness lodge. They're much smaller.
