I have a big birthday  coming up in August. We've been planning on going to WDW and now DH is asking me which resort's concierge level I would prefer :faint: . Opinions, please...good, bad, ugly.

We've stayed standard at WL, CBR, Poly, PO/R, PO/FQ, Pop, All-Stars, AKL, Boardwalk, Beach Club. The only resorts we aren't enthusiastic about are the Poly (no hot tub) and AKL (construction). Other than that, I'm open for suggestions. I've stayed Club Level at Hyatts before, and that is *very* nice.

Thanks in advance,
agnes!

We stayed last August at BC concierge level. It was very nice and the lounge was never crowded. The rooms were just standard (or at least that is what we got). We really enjoyed coming back and getting a little snack and having the drinks available was great too! We will be trying Poly concierge this August:banana:

The only Club Level floors my family and I have stayed on is the 12th floor Atrium Club at the Contemporary and the 14th floor Tower Club at the Contemporary, because of an upgrade from the 12th floor back in May 2000. We have kept going back to the Atrium Club and their renovated lounge is amaizing. Since January 1, 2006 it became full Concierge just like the 14th floor, so they serve the exact same foods and etc. Aside from that we have always had excellent service from the Cast Members up there and because we have had so many stays up there, some of them remember us from our previous vacations.

This December we are staying at the Polynesian Club Level for the 1st time, so we are looking forward to it and to see how it compares to the Atrium Club at the Contemporary.

We've stayed at conceirge levels at Y&B, Poly, CR and WL, back in the day they were fantastic. That was a few years ago, now we won't even consider it unless its a free upgrade. Way to much money for so little. The services and offerings of our last 2 conceirge stays were terrible, either you got there when things were put out or you came late to picked over very little. Most drinks you had to ask for, were usually just out in the open but guests were taking arm loads back to rooms or pool so they monitor them. Pretzels and fish crackers are not what I paid 125.00 a night more for to stay conceirge or getting to the lounge to find it full of people, kids unattended, dirty dishes etc. We just lost our taste for this upper class level for a hefty price.

Years ago, it was like conceirge was only for the elite, but lately everyone stays conceirge and gets very little. We decided a few trips back to just pick our favorite deluxe, stay extra days, savings from non conceirge, hit a grocery store or have delivery and have what we like, when we want it and in quantities we like, thus saving a few bucks. We never used the CM's at the conceirge desk for anything, all our reservations were made from home and we never wanted to go to alot of sit down places in the first place, nothing else they can do for you. We can stay standard rooms, still have turn down if we like and conceirge rooms are not different then regular, even had some crummy views from so called conceirge rooms in the past, so I guess its to each their own but our personal opinion from alot of past experience is its not worth the money on any level.

I'm trying RPC/ Main Bldg. concierge at GF for the first time next month and I'm very excited about it! I think you should splurge for that!:cloud9:

We stayed Poly concierge last summer for the first time and LOVED it:thumbsup2 Unless a hot tub is super important to you, I would say GO FOR IT!

I frequently stay @ AKL CL but that is out...

I have had 2 excellent stays at BWI CL in 2004 and 2005 and highly recommend that too :wizard:

I have read really good things about WL CL as well!

Happy Birthdayprincess:

Anybody else?

I kind of like a PP's idea of getting groceries in and staying in a deluxe room, all the joy of staying concierge-level (without the price :teeth: ).

PS - This is one of those birthdays that end in a "0" :cool2: , so yeah, I would like it to be a special treat.

Not sure if it was exactly for the elite, maybe more of a best kept secret. Our first concierge stay was in the late 1990's and I can guarantee you that we'd never be confused with the elite :lmao: . That being said, it's definitely no where near the level it was back then. They've cut back on so many things over the years. Even the quality of service has become very sporadic. I think I'd have to look long and hard before choosing to stay club level at Disney again.

I have to throw in another vote for the Boardwalk Inn Concierge. We have stayed there twice-both times in a deluxe room-guaranteed Boardwalk view and we are on our way again next May, and the year after, and the year after...well, you get the picture. We love the resort itself and the concierge staff can't be beat. They are all wonderful!:) The IPO has always gotten us all of our ADRs and other requests. They go shopping for us before we arrive. They just make our stay extra special and I can't imagine a trip without it now. To be honest it is the only thing holding us back from buying DVC. If they could guarantee us in the next two years they would start allowing DVC to use points at the BWI concierge, we would sign in a heartbeat!:thumbsup2 Birthday trip?? GO FOR IT!!!!!

GF RPC is our absolute favorite and we have only stayed there for the last few years! It is fabulous!

Thanks for the opinions :thumbsup2 , here's a bump for the Sunday morning crowd.

anyone here ever stay at SUgar Loaf conceirge at the GF?? we just booked that for Dec. and i am just excited about the GF in general !!!

Another vote for the Boardwalk concierge. :woohoo: The staff in the Innkeepers Lounge is awesome:love: We have found them very attentive, help, they go out of their way, they feel like family. The food offerings are pretty amazing also. The lounge is beautiful and is a great place to view Illuminations. One year we were upgraded to the Beach Club Concierge Level and were not impressed. The lounge we very small, food offerings were not nearly as impressive as the BWI. The staff was OK. We are headed to the BWI this coming weekend:banana:

We've stayed on the concierge levels at the GF, BWI, YC, BC, Poly, and Contemporary. I would rank the bottom 2 as the YC/BC, and then the others were good enough that we would return there for another stay.

We have only done Polynesian Concierge and it was definetely not worth the money for us. We only took it because it was the only type of room they had left, we only get a garden view room usually. If you are going for a special celebration, which you listed that you are, they might do something special for you. We only used the concierge desk upon check in. They did fix an adr problem for us with 1 restraunt, the rest of the adrs I already made myself from home. The concierge cm's also have to pull double duty and go into the gch at the desks there so how can they get to know the concierge guests. Our room was nothing special as far as view. It was far away from the lounge. The breakfast offerings never changed. We only had popcorn once in the afternoon waiting for our room to be ready. We had the desserts once and did the dinner snacks once. If you didnt get there exactly at 5 pm it was like staking a table out during busy counter service times in restraunts in the parks. Our ds did get a few sodas every now and then. Maybe do it for a few days and save the rest of your money for some nice meals somewhere after a regular room. Also our room had some major maintenance problems upon checkin which they did fix. Never felt special, never got the chocolate postcard like others have gotten, no towel animals etc. Hope you have a good celebration wherever you choose to stay.

We have done AKL, Poly, CR, YC, BC and WL concierge levels. I would probably not go back to YC or BC or Poly, but the others will be on our return lists. The main issue with the Poly was crowding, unattended children and greedy guests...all issues we have not encountered at the other lounges. YC and BC just did not offer much either in service, food offerings or lounge ambiance.

CR is our absolute favorite because of the views from the rooms. Also had grest lounge and snacks. The AKL has by far the best food offerings. We actually liked the WL...not too pricey and not a huge selection of food, but a great staff and friendly atmosphere.

Sometime I want to try BWI concierge service as well.

Based on your WDW CL experience and some of the things you've mentioned, I think you would LOVE BWI CL:thumbsup2

I think we have stayed at all the CL at WDW except GF. That is on our list. I would say for us the best CL is AKL followed by Poly. Have you even called to check about availability?? CL is hard to get sometimes. ALso have you even seen about dining ressies. The dining plan is really making spontaneous dining a thing of the past so you mustdo ADRs. Are you talking about this August???? I'm worried for you that you won't get dining or room ressies.

TwingleMum -
The problem is this... I usually do all the arrangements and since this is for *my* birthday, I don't want to have to do all the planning, the way I usually do. My wonderful DH has asked me questions from time to time, but I don't know what his arrangements might or might not be.
We do already have room ressies at PO/R (probably our favorite mod), we have a Disney Dining Experience membership and our APs are burning a hole in our pockets :teeth: ...

Thanks for all the feedback, every"buddy", keep it coming. I am impressed how some of the CL CMs make such a good impression that folks remember them by name. I suppose I should have made this a Poll, eh? So far, seems like BWI/CL and WL/CL have the most recommendations (along with some Poly fans, Contemp fans, AKL fans).
Doesn't seem that either YC or BC have gotten many/ or even *any* recommendations...

agnes!

I am going to vote BWI. I have stayed at the YC/Bc, GF, Poly and Contemporary and the BWI wins hands down. It is the only place I will stay now. The cast is amazing and it is just comfortable. For a special big birthday I would choose the BWI.
