Longtime reader, first time poster. There is some great info on these boards, I figured I would ask the experts our question. Last year was our first trip to Disney. It was myself, my wife and our 2 1/2 year old. We stayed at CBR and absolutely loved it. we are thinking about going back Sept or Oct of 2013. We wanted to try something new and were thinking about CSR this time. BUT after seeing pictures of AOA we are thinking about that as we think our daughter would love it. Our concern would be going from a mod to a value, is there a big difference with crowds, busses, food, ect...

The only real difference you'll notice is room size, as values are a bit smaller. We've stayed at values with the three of us with no problem!! The restaurants may also be a little different and you may see more people at the value resorts, but Disney knows that and sizes accordingly!! Bus service is excellent at value resorts and some here may even say it's better!! AoA looks and sounds wonderful!!:firefight

You will definitely see a difference in the room size. The buses may be more crowded, and compared to the mods the resort itself will feel more crowded. A food court is a food court, but the values won't have the TS restaurant like the mods. But your DD will probably love the over the top theming around the resort and in the rooms.

Hi,

I have not seen the Art of Animation Resort yet, but it does look amazing.

I am assuming you would want to stay in a standard room (Little Mermaid). Those rooms are the furthest away from the main hall (food court, bus stop, main pool), however, you or your travel agent can request a room as close to the main hall as possible within the Little Mermaid section. It's not guaranteed, but Disney does do the best they can to fulfill requests.

One difference between a value and a moderate is that the bus stops at the mods are covered and have benches. I do like that. The bus stops tend to be a but more crowded at the values (IMHO). I have found the food at the counter service restaurants in the values and the mods to be about the same.

If you do choose a mod, Port Orleans Riverside has these new cool "Royal Rooms" with a fiber optic headboard. I saw these same headboards at the Disneyland Resort in California and it is so cool. Your daughter would love it!

I have stayed at the moderates and the values. The differences that I have noticed is that the values seem to be more crowded and louder then the moderates. I have only stayed at 2 values and both times were in September labor day week. Maybe that's not always the case. Other then that and the rooms being a little smaller and not having hot tubs or pool slides the values are still nice.

I think you will notice a difference but not anything thats "whoa ... what have we done!?!"

As PP's have said, room size, seems maybe more crowded etc BUT I think the theming of AoA will make up for all that - your daughter will love it which will be worth it :goodvibes
