Which resort would you pick?

For my trip next fall I'm hopping around, Pop for 1 week because of $$,and I like it, BWV for 5 nights for F and W with friends, then 5 nights somewhere I can relax.

I want to be able to go to Disney Springs to eat at Earls and maybe Homecoming, not a shopper. The resort has a good counter service with build your own salad. Relax around the pool, take a walk(maybe). At least go to MK for 1 last time.

I'm thinking Riverside or renting points for a DVC studio.
Riverside is my favorite moderate, boat to Disney Springs, and the price is good.Pay the balance when I get there. DVC has outside area, beautiful grounds, great pools. Studio about the same price as moderate room.

What would you do?

I like Riverside (stayed there twice) but my favorite is French Quarter. I can walk to Riverside if I want to eat there, take the boat to shopping and everything at French Quarter is just a 5 minute walk away.

I personally prefer Riverside over the French Quarter section but FQ is closer to DS. Do you have a specific DVC resort you would want to stay in? Saratoga Springs is right across the way from Disney Springs so can't really get any closer than that. I haven't personally stayed there so don't know about the resort amenities but if proximity if what you are looking for it is perfect.

I enjoyed Riverside when I stayed there and if you want to go to DS, you can't beat the boat. As far as renting points, it would depend on how far away you are planning on doing it. The studios are a little harder to get, I've actually had better luck booking them through Disney or on a discount site rather than renting points. Renting points can be tricky. Normally there is no refund so you have to be absolutely sure you are going. You also have to pay the entire amount up front. Another option might be Swan/Dolphin. I've always been able to get pretty good rates there and even with the resort fee added, I can get it at about the rate of a moderate.

I think your choice of Riverside is perfect for what you want. You mentioned paying for it when you get there- when renting points (which I have not done) I thought I read you pay that up front & have limited ability to modify it, if that factors into your decision.

Thanks all. I've rented points before from David's and went great. I paid up front and it is non refundable, so got travel insurance just in case. Stayed at BWV, Boulder Ridge,AKV, Old Key West, and Beach Club over the last 15 years or so. But their counter service weren't as good as Riverside. Poly's counter service is good, and can get Dole Whips there! Think I'll decide between those 2.

Yes, although SSR is also close to DS their counter service leaves a lot to be desired, especially next to POR's so I agree with you that your best options are POR or POFQ.

I prefer both SSR and POFQ over POR, and I liked the counter service at SSR and their sit down Restaurant (Turf Club), is nice.
