with 2 young DD's ages 2 and 4? We are booked at AKL Sept.4-10 but just in case we are moved(which I am praying we aren't) which resort would you pick? I am hoping we don't get moved. My 4yr. old and myself really want to stay at AKL. We are a big time animal loving family. I will be so disappointed if we have to move!
I just want to have my options ready in advance, just in case.

Polynesian or Grand Floridian (on the monorail)
Wilderness Lodge
Beach Club

With the ages of your children if you were asked to move to another deluxe I'd pick the POLY. The grounds are beautiful, there is a zero depth entry pool and they have a beautiful sand beach.

I would go the opposite. Don't get so spoiled on your first trip that later you won't even consider the value.

I would go with Pop Century or All Star Movies - kids love these resorts. and they are easy on the budget. I also won't go with DDP - although it is a great deal.

for your first trip you want something to eat that quick and easy - so counter service (or even bring your own lunch to the parks)

The Boardwalk Inn. It is my favorite deluxe resort. The entertainment on the boardwalk at night will be great for the kids.

I would stay near the MK if they bump you from the AKL.

Be proactive call at 1 month out and check on what is happening with construction bumps. Keep calling back to check, that way if you get moved at least some options may still exist.

My personnel resort ranking with children that age in the party would be
AKL
WL
FW cabin
Poly
CR
GF

Away from MK
BC
SSR
OKW

I agree with Spiceycat.
We stayed at All Star Sports our first time (just DH and I) and LOVED it. Now we are even more impressed with Moderates (Coronodo Springs) and will be delighted to stay at a Deluxe in a few years.

Also were told that the animals were all behaving normally and have adjusted well to the construction. There are so many different reports flying around here, I just want to be prepared. We don't want to stay there if the animals are all confined to the barns!

the pictures I have seem the animals are not afraid - just noisey.

so instead of being where the people are at the resort - they are over looking at the construction.:rotfl:

the construction is different every day - so they may be considering it entertainment?

vest and a hard hat to lure the animals to my balcony!!! Do they sell canned construction smoke?!:lmao:

You will need to work on your BEEP ... BEEEP .... BEEEEP sound like the construction equipment makes when it backing up the seem to be attracted in the pictures I've seen to the equipment and sound is probably part of the attraction

If moved :( I would try and get either the Poly or Wilderness Lodge... Hopefully you wont get moved and you can enjoy your stay at the AKL!

1. Poly
2. Beach/Yacht Club
3. Boardwalk
4. Contemporary
5. WL

I would probably take GF over any of them, but I don't think they are moving people there.
