Does cost matter? If cost matters WL for a deluxe splurge that won’t break the bank. If not really then Poly for the bucket list. Personally AKL was too far from the action for me.

Voted Poly as it is my bucket list resort. I have absolutely loved that resort since I was a kid. AKL is nice (just stayed there in October) but it felt like it was so far away from everything else in the bubble. The bus transportation there was great though! Never had an issue.

I voted AKL because I love it-I love the animals, I could spend all day in Animal Kingdom, probably annoying CMs as I ask a million and one questions on the trails. But here's why I eliminated the other two-
Poly-a big disapointment when I stayed there. Just not my style, I guess.
Wilderness Lodge-the only reason I eliminated it was that I've been to the hotel it's themed after, in Yellowstone, several times. Otherwise, it is lovely. But I figured that AKL is the closest I'll get to a real African Safari tour.

I voted WL but that was before I read you’d stayed there already!🤪 We’ve never done poly but it’s in our list. I hesitate to stay there due to hearing that the pool can be crowded and if there’s inclement weather, you have to go outside to get to the GCH. But since it’s a bucket list stay, go for it!

WL and AKL are 2 of our favorite resorts.

I've stayed Poly maybe a half dozen times, but not in years.

Even though I have no desire to stay at Poly anymore, you have to do the bucket list.

STAY POLY.

I agree with many to go for the bucket list.
My only two cents is consider renting DVC points if that's a possibility, it's a great way to soften that financial blow a little.

Also I know you said you've stayed at AKL before, but just a word of advice if you haven't done savannah view before -- We were just there in Dec, but Feb weather has the possibility of being similar -- cold weather is very likely to impact their activity, we found it's common for them to not be out very much in the morning or evening hours.

That's really only the case at the Lava Pool. The Oasis pool is never crowded and I honestly prefer it anyway. You get poolside service from Oasis Bar & Grill over there too.

They're really close to each other though so it's very easy to go between them on a pool day. We do that if we want to use the slide for whatever reason. We usually book an Oasis patio (it's good from 10-7 and includes covered seating and snacks/drinks) and just go between them. But mostly stay at the Oasis pool. It's actually my favorite.

Poly was on our bucket list, too. We stayed there last August and while I don't regret it, exactly, I wish we'd stayed at AKL. There are so many people at the Poly, the pool is always packed (the Oasis pool was pretty busy, too), the noise level can be a lot, and the QS dining rarely has enough seating. What we disliked the most, though, was having to go outside to get to the lobby, bars, food/restaurants, etc. Felt just like staying at a value resort to us. For us, the Poly is one-and-done.

Polynesian. I never understood the hype till we stayed there. We just stayed at Wilderness Lodge in March, and I was a bit disappointed. In part due to the accessible room we got, but it was probably overhyped for what it was.

Since you have already stayed at AKL and WL, it seems like an obvious choice to go to the Poly. Out of the three WL is my favorite, but that is due in large part to the theming. When you live among palm trees and beaches, the vibe of WL feels more exotic than the Poly to me. We have stayed at the Poly several times and enjoyed it immensely.

Exactly! We live at the base of the Appalachian Mountains with our nearest neighbor about a half a mile away and that is why the Poly feels exotic to us.

Hello, I am planning a bit of a splurge trip for next February. We're planning to be at WDW for 4 days and we want to splurge a bit and stay at a Deluxe resort. We've narrowed down our picks to three resorts: Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, and Animal Kingdom Lodge (savanna view). We've stayed at DAKL and WL before (and loved!) but the Polynesian would be new to us and is a bucket list type resort. I think there are pros and cons to every resort (and though prices haven't yet been released, I'm bracing myself) so curious what folks would choose for themselves. Which resort would you recommend?
If you've already experienced AKL and WL, ya gotta go with the Poly, yes it is very pricey, but do it at least once, you won't be disappointed.

The Poly is a good one to bucket list. We went all out and stayed in the bungalows a few years ago. The resort itself was pretty nice, and we really enjoyed staying there, and that just before the walking path to MK opened up. It did feel much busier than other resorts, like AKL/AKV and YC/BC, though.
