Ohhhh, I'm SO glad I found you guys!!! Planning a trip this fall. Hoping to stay on grounds, but considering DTD....

As for the Disney Resorts, which is better with young children (2, 4, 5)... WLV, AKL, or OKW?

Personnaly, we love OKW! But that's our home resort and we are a little biased lol. :p

Will you have your own car? If so, OKW is beautiful and so spacious and you can park right in front of your villa. They also have children's activities like arts & crafts for the kids at Community hall down by the main pool.

If not, WLV's may be easier for you with boat access to the magic kingdom and the close proximity.

Can't really comment on AKL as we haven't stayed there but you cannot go wrong with the DVC villas ;)

Good luck!

With children of that age, we preferred either of the Dixie Landings resorts.

We have stayed at each of the resorts you mentioned as our children got older. For us, the pools at Dixie Landings were what attrated our kids.

Okay - so I'm going to make it harder for you to decided! With kids as young as yours, I think you should look into a monorail resort. You'll be spending a lot of time at MK and that monorail sure comes in handy when the little ones are tired.

Poly gets my vote - fantastic pool, with zero entry (like wading into the surf), a sandy beach, a view of the MK fireworks, etc.

The rooms have two queen beds and a very comfy day bed - so you'll all fit nicely. Ample room for the pack-n-play, too.

But then there's the Contemporary . . .

Good luck!

We stayed at WL in May w/ DD (3 1/2) and loved it. We could easily roll her stroller on/off the MK boat (the CR boat was a little more difficult because it's smaller). We also used the MK boat to hook up with the monorail (also easy to manage w/ stroller). DD loved the pool and beach as well as just hanging around in the lobby. WL is also a quick boat ride or walk from FW with the petting zoo and nightly campfire/movie. We got upgraded to concierge for $45 per night which was great for breakfast and snacks.

When our kids were little we liked the CR the best. We'd request bottom floor, north garden wing, garden view, close to the food court. This gave us a room with on outside patio overlooking the kids playground, within walking distance of MK.

It was easier for us to walk to MK since we always brought a stroller for the kids. After a morning at the park DH and I would sit on the patio and watch the kids play on the playground, then let them take naps before going back to the park. Chef Mickey's is great for a CBreakfast or CDinner. The CR is the first monorail stop for the ride home. Heck my kids just liked to ride around on the monorail! We'd ride it to the Poly for O'hana or GF for the Pirate cruise. The pool at CR is very large with a nice slide and big hot tub. There's a dock with bird/fish food and a sandy beach area near the pool.

The rooms are large with 2 Q beds and a day bed (twin). Plenty of room for 5.

With children that age I would do the Poly. :) It's super close to MK, has a great pool, it's right on the monorail, etc.

OKW is great too, but I'd recommend renting a car if you decide to stay there. :) It will help you getting groceries and using the kitchen. Also it gives you more flexibility with dinner out.

Have fun planning! :)
