Which resort to watch Electric Water Parade?

Does Wishes fireworks come right after the EWP? How fun to stay and watch Wishes on the beach too-this keeps getting better and better!!:goodvibes

Do you know where I can go to find out times of fireworks and parades?
I can't remember where I found the times for EWP.
On a regular night if their was no hard ticket event going on, Wishes is usually at 10:00 PM. It was posted here that the EWP goes by the Poly at 9:00 PM, so you would have the hour wait for Wishes to start from there.

Thanks Cr Resort Fan!! I just editted my post because I actually found on allears that Wishes starts at 8pm that night-does that sound right? Seems early for fireworks, but then again I havent been to WDW in quite some time.

Check out this January schedule they posted on allears (the day we were planning to head to poly for all this is the 31st). Why is it at 6:30 on the 21st and 26th? Isnt that waay early for fireworks? Still light out I imagine...-??

Wishes
January 1-5, 19-20 -- 9:00 p.m.
January 6-8, 10-18, 22-25, 27-28, 30-31 -- 8:00 p.m.
January 9 -- 7:00 p.m.
January 21, 26 -- 6:30 p.m.

On January 21, 26 and 29 the Magic Kingdom is hosting the Pirate & Princess Party, which is one of their hard ticket events where it closes at 7:00 PM and only those who purchased tickets to the event can stay in the park. Last month when they had MVMCP they had regular Wishes one hour before the Magic Kingdom closed to this without tickets to MVMCP and then at 9:30 PM they had Holiday Wishes for the event. So I would assume it's the same situation with the P&PP.

Aah...that makes sense. I forgot about P&PP parties.

Not to change topics (though it's related), but I don't understand the night time EMH. I've checked the calendars, but I can't seem to find how late parks are open during EMH. The times on the EMH marked days calendar look like regular times.

Do you know how late MK & Epcot stay open during EMH in Feb.?

For evening EMH the parks are open 3 hours past the posted closing time. So if the Magic Kingdom closed at 11:00 PM, Resort guests can stay until 2:00 AM.

Thank you for clarifying that. That's what I read on the WDW main website, but for some reason they don't list on the calendar what time the parks actually close during night time EMH (unless I missed it?:confused3 )

For instance, 2/3 has EMH in MK. On the calendar on the WDW website, it lists park hours as: 9am to 9pm. But how could it close at 9 when Wishes is at 9? Sometimes that website is so confusing.

So, for the other park hours calendars on the WDW website, should I just tag on 3 extra hours to whatever is written and expect they will stay open that late?

You're welcome and yes when Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom is having PM EMH, add 3 hours from the closing time that is listed. Also if you were not sure when the parks have AM EMH, that goes from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM. So the Resort guests enter at 8:00 AM and the guests coming from offsite can enter starting at 9:00 AM.

Thank you so very much-you have been SO helpful! :worship:

All of you have-thanks everyone!! :flower3:

I know a lot of people enjoy the EWP and I'm not trying to make anyone mad, but I wouldn't get too excited about going see it if I were you. Unless it has changed in the last 2 years, it consists of about 10 pontoons with some lights. I would bet that some homes in your nieghborhood have better light displays at Christmas time. If you want to see it, don't let me stop you. I just wouldn't cut something else out to see it. Some people go see it expecting Spectromagic on water and that really isn't the case.

um... it is not just in the last two years that it has not changed, it has not changed ('cept for the music a little) in the last 30+ years as it is the same as when WDW opened. it is the longest continuously running attraction as it started (I think) two days before the MK opened its doors for the VIPs that were staying at Poly and CR. The dude that drives the lead boat is (again, this was as of about 6 months ago) the highest seniority WDW employee and the same guy that has driven the boat since the incept of the parade.

I realize that it does not have the pizzazz that it used to, but it is one of those things that if they changed it or discontinued it there would be an up roar from the purists. It is also one of those things that was on Walt's to do list... he didn't put it together, but it was one of the concepts from the "Florida Project" which was Main Street Electrical Parade on the water.
