Which resort to stay for split, before GF?

I'm planning a trip after Thanksgiving 2019 and thinking we'll do a split stay. The GF is by far my favorite, mostly for sentimental reasons, so if we don't stay there I think I'll be sad! But would like to try a new resort. The only other one we've done is POR, which we liked but didn't love.

9 nights (yay) so maybe 4 at one resort then 5 at GF.

We will have DD10 and DS7. It's hard to know what the kids will be like that far out, but right now my priorities are:

-3 beds in the room (day bed is fine) so kids have their own bed
-balcony or patio so we can put the kids to bed then relax outside
-great pool area because we want to spend time there

Resorts that don't appeal to us: WL, AKL (we live in Wyoming with lots of animals :)

Any thoughts? Would so appreciate any wisdom!

How about Beach Club? They have a daybed and great pool area.

I'd probably go with YC as you'll be guaranteed a balcony. You'll need to request a day bed, though, as they are not guaranteed. If budget isn't a huge issue, you could also look into a 2-bedroom villa at BCV to guarantee the number of beds you want. All BCV villas have balconies or patios, they just vary in size.

A split stay with an Epcot resort is perfect. There are a lot of special Christmas activities in the World Showcase and the Epcot resorts make it very easy to see it all. The Yacht Club would give you full balconies and a great pool. We do a GF/BC split stay the week after Thanksgiving last year and it was perfect. We only needed the buses to go to Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs. :)

For your needs, I would recommend Yacht Club or Boardwalk Inn. They both offer balconies and great pools.

I would do an Epcot resort too. We love the beach club and are trying BWV this November. We’ve done a poly/bc split before and it was the best of both worlds.

YC for sure. Do Epcot and Hollywood Studios while there and MK and AK while at GF. You will only need to bus to AK. We love the Epcot area resorts

Thanks so much everyone - that helps a ton. Going to go check out Yacht Club and Boardwalk!

Just a FYI for the OP - requests for a daybed at YC/BC are only requests and not guarantees. Those rooms are assigned to parties with 5 guests first and only given to smaller families by the room assigner if they are not needed for a larger one. All BWI rooms have either a daybed or sleeper sofa. If having a 3rd sleeping surface is paramount, then requesting a daybed at BWI has a higher chance of being granted. BWI's pool has one of the best (if not THE best) slide of any of the onsite resorts.

You could book a studio at either BCV or BWV and be guaranteed a 3rd sleeping surface. All of those studios have a pull-down murphy bed that is a little smaller than a regular bunk bed, plus a queen bed and a sleeper sofa.

Boardwalk Inn. The kids will like the entertainment on the boardwalk and the adults will like the atmosphere also. :flower:
