Which resort to choose

Okay, my husband and I are planning a trip to WDW end of September thru early October. We are hoping that it won't be busy. Our dilemma is choosing the resort. We are planning on staying a total of 9 nights with one day spent at Universal and one day spent at Sea World. My husband really wants to stay in a deluxe resort but my goodness even with our AAA discount it's very expensive. I was looking at the moderate resorts but to be honest they don't look all that appealing, I mean a curtain separating the bedroom from the bathroom! what's that all about. We stayed off site on our first trip to WDW and had a great room offsite..I just need to know is the expense really worth it for the resorts and if so is a deluxe really worth it and if so why or if not what about a moderate?...thanks so much

Give CSR a try. Very nice resort. Check out my CSR website below for pics, links and info

As far as Deluxes go the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge are usually pretty reasonable. I would recommend the Wilderness lodge with a upgraded view other then the Standard view and maybe add on Conceirge as I heard they are ugrading the concerige at that Hotel. My other suggestion is try the Swan or Dolphin sometimes they offer discounted rates if your a teacher or nurse and they might be a little more economical but are still considered Deluxe Hotels!

If you have trouble with a deluxe and need to go to a moderate I would recommed either POFQ or CSR as to me they seem to be a little better then the rest of mods. POFQ is more compact and the grounds are beautiful you would also have the boat to do downtown Disney and has the hot tub at the pool. CSR is also very nice its a little more deluxe then the other Mods because it can host Conventions and the pool is very themed. You do have the more upscale dining along with the Peppermarket.

You could also look into renting DVC points and try once of the deluxe DVC resorts!

Those are my suggestions good luck with whatever you decide and keep us posted!

My husband and I stayed 8 days last fall at POFQ and absolutely loved it!! We had our reservations in the beginning, we had our hearts set on staying deluxe but it just wasn't in our budget. We were able to even extend our trip a couple days by going moderate. POFQ was pristine, beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. The smallness of the resort is wonderful as nothing is more than a 5 minute walk. In my opinion, this resort is perfect for couples. We did Sea World and Discovery Cove in addition to Disney. All in all it was a wonderful vacation and we LOVED POFQ!

In my opinion the Deluxe rooms are worth the $. Deluxe hotels have great theming and bigger rooms, and some rooms have views of Cinderella's Castle which is a plus!! If I had to pick a moderate it would be the Coronado Springs. I had a great experience there!!!!

I agree with the WL recommendation. The resort is beautiful and has the added bonus of water taxi to the MK. The pool and hot tub are great. We stayed there for six days and found it superior to the other deluxes we have stayed in.

It's really not quite that bad! The curtain separates the sink/dressing area from the main room. The bathroom and tub/shower has a door. The moderates are really very nice. I would suggest POR, POFQ, or CSR, all of which are absolutely beautiful.
