We are planning a trip for our family of four during the summer. 2A 2C ages 14 and 11. We have only stayed at POP during our last 3 trips and will have a car. Which resort(s) sound the best? They are all within $200 of each other.
3 nights POR/4 nights BC....2 nights POP/5 nights BC.....6 nights BC

My vote is to stay as many nights as possible at BC, either 2 nights POP/5 nights BC or 6 nights BC. Your kids are going to love SAB, the ability to walk to 2 parks, the multiple dining options available in the Epcot resort area makes it a great place to stay.

I would stay all 6 nights at BC. We went for a 6 night trip in December 2010 and did a 2/4 split and for us it wasn't worth it as we never felt settled at either resort. The first 2 nights went by so fast that we were checking into the 2nd resort before we knew it. Then those 4 nights flew by and we were packing to head home. For us, it just wasn't worth it for such a short trip. If it were me, I'd stay all 6 nights at the BC :).

I agree, if staying all nights in the same hotel is an option, my vote goes there. I like to be settled for our vacation.

I would pick 6 days at BC, so you have the most time and the pool looks awesome. I am hoping to stay there in the future.

I would go with the split stay. Hit the parks heavy the first 2 or 3 days, and then check into BC and enjoy lots of down time at the pool. We do split stays all the time and love them. We did a split stay at BC last trip. We gave our luggage to bell services in the morning at SSR, headed to Epcot for the morning, and then walked over to BC at lunch. Our room wasn't ready, but I had brought with our bathing suits. We changed and headed to the pool, had some fun and then went up to our room 2 hours later when it was ready. Our luggage came up right after that. I always vote for a longer stay!:goodvibes

Since i'm not a fan of POP .... I'd personally choose 3 nights POR/4 nights BC

We've not stayed at any of them. We don't care for the values so that rules that out. We've not stayed at POR (we stay at a different moderate), but POR would be our choice if ours were not available. But I love the looks of BC and would stay there all six nights if only a $200 difference.

I love split stays too! But I wouldn't split my Beach Club stay for POP or Port Orleans. So I would stay at Beach Club 6 nights.

Uhm another vote for staying put in 1 resort, so yes BC would be my pick. As PP stated they never felt settled & then the last 4 days went by sooo quick. I'm in the same boat. Only I'm going for 11 nights, & I don't wanna switch rooms nor do I wanna switch & split stay....I ask, is this, or Am I normal? In wantng to stay put...?

I do agree with PP's regarding split stays... I am not sure I'd like that because I do like to stay put....I don't like change.....

However many of my Beach Club visits have included a stay prior near US/IOA so I suppose you could call that a Split Stay....

AND... your option #2 DOES include an extra day at WDW....

So... my vote is for 2 at POP and 5 at BC.....

I'd schedule 2 POP days for MK and AK..... OR MK x 2.....

Then use your 5 days at BC for Epcot, DHS, and Resort Day (other 2 overflow or wherever).... Your kids are the PERFECT age to enjoy SAB! Our last 4 visits have been at BC.... kids were ranging 12 to 18....they LOVE it.....AND you are walking to Epcot.... and quick trip to DHS....LOTS to do on the Boardwalk too...check that out.....plenty of ADR opportunities....and fun....

Maybe you can do some research into EMH's for those days and coordinate....

at any rate.... Have a Magical Visit !

OP here. Thank you for your replies. We might even try to do first night at POP and 6 nights at BC, just so we can stay the whole week. Thanks again.

Looks like you have pretty much made up your mind, but let's really lock it in! ;)

I say 6 nights BC. You can't beat SAB and with early teens, it is an awesome option.

I ALWAYS suggest people stay in the Epcot resort area, whether YC, BC, BWI/BWV, Swan or Dolphin. It is such a great location to stay in.

If you do decided to split your trip, just make BC last. It will be really hard to leave BC once you have been there.

if you have only stayed at Pop - then definitely spend some time here.

otherwise think your kids would miss it.

then go to BC
