I am thinking of a trip the first week of May. Anyone been during that time? How was it? Now to my main question, where should we try to get a room? My home resort is SSR and we would need a studio. It will be DH, and our 2 kids(2.5 & 7yo) and we will have AP's and would like to spend a week at WDW and spend alot of time enjoying the resort.
Thanks!

My guess is you'll have your choice of resorts. We booked a Standard View at BWV this past May at 7 months.

IMO, it's a very nice time to visit. Weather is moderate (mid-80s). We did have a couple of overcast days and some rain, but nothing that ruined an entire day. Although we did have to reschedule Fantasmic one night because of a storm.

Rehabs are infrequent. Crowds aren't bad at all. This year we visited during the start of the 50th annivesary, and even with Epcot and MGM closing early for press events (shifting crowds to the remaining parks), I don't remember ever waiting more than 10-15 minutes for any one ride.

I've gone mid-May (2nd or 3rd week) the last couple years. The above comments match what I've experienced (other than closing the parks for press events). I think that any resort would be fine as they are all kid-friendly.

My favorite times to go to WDW are May and October.

There have been a few May trips when the weather was already a bit hot for me, but crowds are down because kids are still in school (unless you hit during Grad nights).

I've already got OKW booked for next May (we're going down with friends to celebrate a birthday).

BTW, May 5-6, 2006 are Grad Nights, so the MK closes early.

May is a great time, especially if you like flowers. If so, try for the BWV or BCV to be close to EPCOT for the Flower and Garden Fest. If not into flowers, it is stil a great time. Just keep in mind that Disney has Grad Nights and MK is closed early for the local HS seniors.

We love to stay at BCV during our mid-May trips because we love SAB and spend most of our days there just hanging out and relaxing.
