Which resort has walking access to MK?

We are thinking about going Deluxe for the first time. Hate the pricing since we are rarely in our rooms but we are looking for the convenience of walking to MK. We spend more time at this park so we thought, heck why not make it what we want this time instead of letting the price of the resort dictate where we stay. It's just DH and I. I thought I read somewhere that CR has walking access to MK. What about Poly? The decor really doesn't appeal to me much at CR but again...convenience of walking.

Oh and another thing, about how long is the walk? Knees are a bit worn out so we do have to stop and rest while in the parks. I know the monorail is available but walking can sometimes be faster from what I hear.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You can walk directly from the Contemporary to MK. I'd say it's about 10 minutes. Watch for traffic! Getting to the MK, we've found that it is faster to walk than to take the monorail since the resort loop goes CR, TTC, Poly, GF, MK. Leaving MK, it could be faster to take the monorail.

In addition to the monorails that serve CR, Poly, and GF, there are also boats that go to and from the MK. There is no walkway from Poly to MK. There is, however, a walkway from Poly to TTC.

Thank you for the info. I think the search on the forum is disabled right now so I finally got tired of searching page after page and decided to just ask. Thanks a million.:thanks::thanks::disrocks:

You are very welcome. I've never stayed at the CR, but we usually have a meal or two over there and we like walking between CR and MK. I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever resort you choose.

If it's just two of you, look into renting points for a BLT studio. I am doing that soon and will be saving almost $200/night compared to CR.

To save a nice bit of money, the WL is a great option, it's a nice quick boat ride to the MK, easier on the Knees :)

blt is even closer than CR - and you can rent a reservation from a DVC member..

The Wilderness Lodge is a great option if you want to save a little money and do less walking. The resort itself is very compact with everything under one roof. The walk to the boat dock is short and the boat ride is about ten to fifteen minutes long. The boat dock at MK is closer to the main gate than the monorail and bus loading areas are. And the bus to MK from WL is a short five minute ride. This is a really nice resort. :)

Just to clarify, you can rent a reservation from a DVC member, but you don't have to rent points to stay at BLT. You can book there even if you aren't DVC.
