Which resort has the least kids?

Hey folks, all I'm asking is (if you read the title of the thread):
WHICH RESORT HAS THE LEAST KIDS?

I K N O W there are kids there, heck there are kids eveyrwhere, I just want to minimize my exposure to them. This is not a who's right and woh's wrong issue, you like kids? good for you. You don't like kids, good for you!

To those who get it, excellent, and those who don't, not a big deal, I'm sure we'll all continue living.

Okay then, Coronado it is, looks like a nice place.
Just out of curiosity, why do you dislike children so much?

We're looking between:
Coronado,
Caribbean beach,
Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside.

I'm leaning towards Coronado, it appeals to me more.

Thanks!

I would guess not Riverside... it is the one Moderate that allows families of 5 we always saw lots of 3 kid families like ourselves there.
Hope you find what you are looking for!

Not having children, I'll have to say that I rarely notice children one way or the other.

The values are very compact, and appeal to children. The moderates generally have much less hussle and bussle of all ages, except for the food courts and swimming pools.

I notice more children at the Grand Floridian than at the other monorail resorts. Adults tend to like the Polynesian and the Contemporary. Y&BC, Boardwalk, & S&D are also good choices.

DO consider the extra charges before staying at the Gaylord Palms.

Just out of curiosity, why do you dislike children so much?

someone doesn't dislike children just because they would rather stay at a resort that appeals more to adults.

a trip to WDW with my grandkids( and I LOVE them, as I LOVE kids in general), would be a totally dif. resort choice than a trip with just hubby and me. (where I would prefer a less kid=friendly resort). what is the problem:confused3?

Op, I'll bet you never expected to get flamed for asking such a simple question. anyway, since manypeople frequent WDW without children, the disboards has a whole thread subsection: Disney for adults and solo travelers.

Op, check it out, you'll get lots of info there!

you know what? even though Vegas is about gambling, it has become a family destination, also. there are kids friendly things there, too (the pirate ship, the rides, etc).
If I were on a discussion board about Vegas, and someone posted a query about which resort has the least gambling and the most kid friendly things, I would not be offended in the slightest. I would just post any info I could that would help them. and wish them a fun trip!:cool1:

Princess tiffany, I know it seems a long way off now but someday, you , too, will be an empty nester.and maybe you will still be in love with WDW, and discover aspects of that wonderful place that you now can't enjoy. and don't forget, there are many adults who would love to go with kids, but can't have any.

hubby and I NEVER stay offsite. we love staying on property. we don't want to be "day guests" we want to still be "IN DISNEY" when we are at our resort, in our room..we love days where we don't go to the parks at all, just relax at the resort.
and yes, we do take up a place in line for Dumbo, winnie the pooh, peter pan, etc. just 2 silly adults, acting like kids! (we also love Suessland down the street! sshhh! it's so colorful!) we head to fantasyland for early entry, before it gets too crowded with tons of strollers. because we want to, we love it,and we love Disney, and Disney has loved our money over the many years.
sometimes we go cheaply, and stay at a value resort. and sometimes we are in the mood for the huge dalmations and buzz and woody, or lady and the tramp.. other times, we want a more peaceful stay, so we shoot for allstar music. (the least fav. value for families with kids). or if we have the $, dolphin, or CSR. or we rent points, and stay at BW, beach club, or how about key west?
BTW, Riverside is pretty huge, there are 5 quiet pools! and they have the river roost.bar,. and a short boat trip to Scat cat club at FQ, or to DTD.
OP, try a segway tour, there is as age limit on that (usually all adults.) great fun, and a great tour of world showcase! (disney wouldn't even have this tour if Disney was for kids only)

touche! you got us there. I guess he did say he's doesn't really like children. either way, he still loves WDW, and is just asking a factual question. (however, that wasn't in his original post, which was waht people responded to)
it's still a fair question.
another example: "which amusement parks are good for people who don't like thrill rides?" .. sounds silly. but, even tho, hubby loves rollercoasters (the bigger the better) I hate them. I love disney, cause you don't have to love big thrills ONLY to enjoy it. (BTW, an answer to that would be Cedar POint, in Ohio. , rollercoaster capitol! why? even tho they have a bunch of biggies!!! they have woosie rollercoasters, too, for me. and a water park, and a beach.

You might want to re-think this.............. the week of Dec. 5-12th - Pop Warner and the Cheerleaders will be there.......... I think you'll see TONS of kids everywhere! Sorry!

:rotfl::rotfl2: not only will you see TONS of kids EVERYWHERE..but you'll see TONS of really annoying kids everywhere during Pop Warner and Cheer!!!!

Good luck!

Walt Disney World is a vacation resort, NOT a children's resort. It is marketed as a honeymoon destination and as a romantic, fun destination for couples traveling without children. This is why they had Pleasure Island, the golf courses, the nicer resort restaurants like V&A and CG, the spas and other, more adult experiences. The OPs question was valid and I don't understand why the mommy brigade is getting their panties in a wad.

As another poster pointed out, there are many, many posts about which resort would appeal to children the most. So why the hubbub about a post concerning which resort would have a more adult appeal? This ticks me off because I see this parental entitlement issue at many places beyond WDW so even if hubby and I are enjoying a nice meal off property we STILL have to deal with crying babies or have small children making a fuss during a theatre production.

We childless people promise to leave the early ADRs, main swimming pools, early EMH, dinner at Pizza Planet and mid afternoon Fantasyland rides to the kids as long as families agree to keep the kids out the resort restaurants after 8 PM, keep them out of the hot tub and quite by the quite pool in the evenings, and agree not to let them run through the resort hallways (outside or otherwise) screaming at 7 AM. :cool1:

Quiet pools only mean that there are not slides/ and lifeguards. They are not meant to be childfree or totally quiet!

Plenty of adults like the Fantasyland rides and early EMH.

Our kids are little bit older (12, 11 and 9) but we do not like early dinner ADRs or cs meals at Pizza Planet. Yes we do expect our children to behave at dinner and they are way past the crying/tantrum age so you will see us at 8 pm and later at some of the nicer restaurants. Also it's my understanding that children are allowed in the hot tubs as long as they are accompanied by an adult. I would rather see and kid in the hot tub with their parents then some of the adults I have seen in the hot tub that seem to forget that DIsney is a "family" destination , if you know what I mean.

If I wanted to avoid children, I'd stay at the Swan/Dolphin. While not childless by any means, these resorts have a pretty big convention business, which makes them more adult oriented. I would also confine my dining to the non-DDP restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin.

If I wanted to avoid children, I would absolutely not stay at Wilderness Lodge, which always seems overrun with them. Dh and I call that infamous lobby restaurant the "Echoing Canyon Cafe". WL is one of the worst resort hotels in terms of number of kids since it seems to attract many families with children who can't or won't pay the price for a monorail resort but still want to be fairly convenient to MK.

Also, dh once saw a couple who were skinny dipping in the early morning at one of the quiet pools in the Gator Bayou section of POR, so I guess something can be said for that section of that resort, too, at least in the early a.m.

disneymomx7, you're kids are older. someone had mentioned toddlerscrying and fussing at late ADRS (cause they are tired, and too young to know any better)

I don't mind a few kids in the hot tubs (before my sons left the nest, they went with us, and loved the hot tubs.) but we made them sit still and enjoy the purpose of a hot tub, NOT splash around, and treat it like a pool.

OP while I mentioned ALlstar Music, I wouldn't recommend it at the time you are going. we were there at that time one early dec with pop warner!:scared1: I would rather be amongst a field trip from a day care center than with those rude teenagers and their rude parents, ever again! find out which moderate resort will be the "runover" for pop warner, and avoid it! (I do not think coronado is one of them)

Children aren't allowed in restaurants after 8pm? I have never heard that.

I would not consider myself part of the "mommy brigade" nor do I have "parental entitlement issues". I do have a child. But that child does not run in the hallways, or go near the hot tub. I don't think it is necessary to group all children together. Some are well behaved and polite.:thumbsup2

I don't agree that children shouldn't be in resort restaurants after 8 pm. when my boys were youngm, with all their soccer and baseball practices, etc. we rarely ate before then anyway! and I know it is hard to get ressies sometimes. if the only time is open is later, whatcha gonna do? maybe you tried to let the kids nap. maybe they did sleep, maybe they didn't.
as another poster once said(on another thread), at a late ADR, I couldn't stand the whimpering, crying, and fussing,... and that was from my husband!!!:rotfl2:

but, you know your children, I won't book a late ADR at, say LeCellier, with my 4 year old grandson.
the "quiet" pools? of course we know they aren't "quiet" .kids can have fun, splash around etc. the quiet pools were suggested because mostof the families with little kids tend to go to the main pool. so there is lesspossibility of a lot of kids at the quiet pools. (I would never tell a family, "shhh! this is a quiet pool":rotfl:

Can't tell you the number of times we've been in restaurants at 10 or 10:30 and they're still packed with kids!

I don't think the post says anything about disliking children, just wishing to minimize exposure to them.
The OP said in subsequent posts that he does not care for children and tries to avoid them when possible. I simply asked why.

On page 2 of this thread the OP clearly stated that he DOES NOT LIKE CHILDREN. I was simply curious as to why the OP does not like all childen. There are some very annoying families and children out there, but most familes and children are quite nice. So I was curious as to why such a blanket statment of disliking children in general.

I find the phsychology interesting of someone who states a clear dislike of children, booking a vacation at the one place in the world which is guaranteed to be overrun with children - morning, noon and night, every single day of the year. Not judging at all. I could care less if the OP likes children or not, just found it interesting.

Some times kids just are not on Florida's timezone not everyone is from the east coast
Exactly, there are people from all over the world that travel to WDW.

If it's 10:00 p.m. in WDW and that kid is from L.A., then their body clock is at 7:00 p.m., if that kid is from London their body clock is at about 1:00 p.m., etc.

I don't like other people's kids! It's very simple. No weird psychology involved. And, perhaps it's really more that I dislike parents with childen if they don't keep them quiet or take them out. That's my big complaint. And, believe me, we get it all -- and I emphasize all -- the time. Kids are noisy, they are running around, etc., and the parents are oblivious. I've been dining at Jiko when the baby was crying and grandma was holding it and acting like it was no big deal. It is a big deal. Take the baby out of the restaurant. Do not disturb the other diners.

I would like other people's children fine if their parents would respect me!

Dh and I still vacation at WDW because we enjoy the adult-oriented things like the Food & Wine Festival, the deluxe resorts, etc. One thing we really like is lots of dining options in a close and convenient area. So, we always stay at an Epcot resort and we do much of our dining at the non-DDP restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin. We also always dine late -- 9 pm or later in the hopes that at least some of the kids are gone.

Analyze away!!!

(And, sometimes we see that the kids are actually falling asleep at the table when it's 10:30 pm, but the parents are still determined to have their meal! My only point was whoever said kids aren't allowed after 8 pm was dead wrong!)
