Which resort has best transportation?

Hi there.

I was wondering which resort in each category has the "best" transportation. By that I mean, quickest, most convenient to get to the bus stop, and what parks are they closest to.

I also wanted to know which resort in each category has the best parking lot access. In other words, if you decided to drive to the parks, which resort would be make it easiest/fastest to get to your car from your room?

Hope these questions make sense. Thanks for your help!

Everyone is going to have a different opinion and based on your criteria, there is no easy answer.

All the resorts have busses that take you to the four major parks, water parks, and Downtown. Depending on the resort, you either have a centrally located bus stop or several smaller stops spread amoung the resort. For example, the Polynesian has one stop, located outside the Great Ceremonal House. The Carribean Beach Resort has several stops, at least one for each of the "islands". You could use the resort area to give you a clue as far as distance to the parks. CBR is an Epcot-area resort and it's also very close to MGM. The longest ride from there is to the Magic Kingdom.

Parking is a another issue again. The moderates and values have open corridor rooms and easy access to the parking lots from your rooms. The deluxe resorts usually have a more central parking arrangement (and valet, if you like). But then again, the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Wilderness Lodge are in great proximity to the MK.

Quite frankly, I think it's all going to be about the same. People will say the Disney transportation is fater than a car. People will say the car saves you waiting for the bus that never comes. I've done both and frankly, after a week, neither one is going to get you between places any faster if you aren't racing to get there. And on my vacations, I'm not running to get anywhere.

It depends on which parks you go to the most as well. We are Epcot people, so the BW/BC/YC works best for us. No waiting, we just walk over when we're ready.

One other thought to throw in is that AKL has direct bus service to each park. With the other resorts, you will end up stopping at other resorts coming or going, eating up valuable time. But again, it all depends on where you plan on spending most of your time.

If you plan on eating at other resorts, a monorail resort might be best because you have quick access to the TTC, giving you access to the resort busses without having to take a bus somewhere and then connect.

This is a difficult question
