I will be heading to WDW for the first or second week of December next year for my 30th birthday. (I have to be there on the 7th so we will prob do a weds to weds trip)
It will be myself and my husband and possibly my best friend.
If my best friend comes she will only be staying 3-4 days, not the entire 8 days.

I have 210 points available for this trip. I would like to stay in a one bedroom even though DH and I always stay in a studio.

I will book the one bedroom at my home resort SSR at the 11 month mark.
Do you think I stand a chance if getting a one bedroom at any of the other resorts at the 7 month mark that time of year?

If you could celebrate a mile stone birthday at any WDW dvc resort which one would you pick and why?

We have stayed at SSR, OKW, and AKV

I cannot answer your question about availability...

I would pick BWV or BCV for the proximity to Epcot. Epcot is my favorite park and I love being able to walk there. I think my second choice would be SSR for DTD.

If I was going on a 30th b-day celebration I would be celebrating with many adult drinks. :drinking1 my resort choice would probably be based on that.

Lol good point! I do plan on enjoying my beverages. If I do not stay at OKW I will at least be visiting for some turtle crawls! I like the idea of being able to walk or boat to EPCOT since I want to drink around the world one day as well.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

I'd vote 1st choice BW to walk to Epcot, and adult entertainment. 2nd choice SSR for walk to DTD.

For the PP BC is fullllll of kids and the close walk will not make up for never having a hot tub filled with kids for an adult only trip.

I would pick BWV or BCV like the other posters. You have so many restaurants (and bars) between the BW/BC, the Swolphin and in Epcot itself. You can walk/boat to DHS as well as Epcot. In Dec. there are so many special activities in Epcot that make it a wonderful location for the holiday season. You will need to call right at the 7 month mark to get either resort. Better chance with a 1 bdrm, pool/garden view at BWV. If you don't get what you want be sure to use your two wait lists.

Yes, you have a chance. I have stayed every year since '93 during this time period. Only one year we did not get the exchange we wanted. You might have to wait list from some of the time. We did this year and got BCV in three working days.

We did a DCL for my 50th. This is a personal choice, you should pick the resort you like the best and enjoy.

Thanks for all f the replies! I have my heart set on BWV but I'm afraid that I will be very upset when I can't get it.

I will probably be thrilled no matter where I stay, since I will be at WDW but I'm just trying to make it as special as I can.

I celebrated my 40th at DL - one of the best birthdays ever!

For myself my birthday picks at WDW in Dec would be:

#1) VWL (but I'm a groupie!) Just love the Christmas ambiance there.
#2) BLT. I love the Bay Lake location, close proximity to Fort Wilderness and WL to see the Christmas decorations, and also easy access to some great restaurants including where I'd have dinner for my BD - Cali Grill.
#3) BWV. Same reasons as everyone has listed.
