Okay, after giving my opinion on the best times to visit WDW, the bug got me and I talked my girls into a trip the week after Thanksgiving (my personal favorite time of the year.

Question is, where do we stay? Our home resort is BWV. We need a two bedroom and have only stayed at BWVs since buying (7/02). Four trips home and I'm still not tired of the place! We are creatures of habit, (Before buying we always stayed at Carribean Beach or the Contemporary) but I'm thinking about a change. For years I've read about all the different resorts and walked around them, and always ended up back at BWV because of the close proximity to meals, entertainment and Epcot... and the feel of the place. Forget about whether we can get ressies, just give me your thoughts.

I humbly ask for your thoughts on your opinions on the best Vacation resort for a holiday season trip (8 days) with my DW and two girls (6 and 20). We always do the parks but spend some decent time at the resorts. By the way the 20 year old has been to Disneyland 100s of times but never to WDW! My 6 year old has been 5 times! Long story... Thanks!

if you are talking about this year - I would call member service and ask what they still have....

this is very popular time.

then when you know what you can get - list them.

with the 6 year old VWL

the 20 year old either SSR for easy access to DD, PI

or BWV (yes I know you want a change - but hey the BW is great for that age group)

Good advice. We've done that trip three times, and although we have had to waitlist, we've always gottien our first preference. I'll call tonite!

Good luck getting your 2 bedrm,

Naysayers! We had the choice of SSR or OKW. I picked SSR for its proximity to DDT and PI. But I waitlisted at BWVs just in case. Like I said, spur of the moment trip and just happy to be at WDW. In the past all of our waitlists have come through, so I remain optimistic, but regardless we have SSR. I'd like to stay at OKW but was concerned about its age. Any comments or observations? We noticed, years ago that when we went to Carribean Beach the first time on our honeymoon it was awesome, later years it seemed to deteriorate a bit. I am concerned about that at OKW. But maybe we've just gotten more picky in our old age! Thanks for getting me off my tail and getting the reservations though!

I'm kind of in the same boat. We have SSR (1 br) for the week of Thanksgiving (well Sat-Wed) and I'm now on a waitlist for a 1 br at BWV. BUT I'm seriously considering booking a FW Cabin (which had availability as of yesterday, even for Thanksgiving day). It's only 160 points Sun-Thur of Thanksgiving week. What to do, what to do!

SSR has better transportation that FW.

with FW you have to change buses to get to the theme parks. with SSR they just pick you up and go.

DVC does not allow OKW to get old. that is what our maintence fees are used for to kept the place up.

sorry you couldn't get BWV or VWL - but hopefully your wait list will come through for you.

Your 20 year old will appreciate being that close to DD/PI....

besides SSR is a very, very upscale resort. DVC spend alot of money here and it shows..... first class all the way.

I really think your 6 years will enjoy that pool. (so plan some pool time for her)

have a great trip!!! ;) :woohoo:

The more I think about it the more excited I get. It does look like a beatiful place and when we walked through during construction back a few years ago you could really see the potential. Where ther is potential Disney usually reaches it. With the spa amenities and the shopping my 6 year old and I will probably have plenty of father-daughter pool time while the older girls get pampered and shop. Bottom line is I am just plain excited about getting back to WDW for a great family vacation to get to know my girls, my wife and myself again after a brutal year at work. Thanks for the input.
