We our planning on taking our DS, DD and their college aged friends (3 each) to WDW in May 05. I am trying to decide where it would be best to stay. Our first trip home as new members will be in January 05 but I don't want to wait till then to schedule the trip. I am planning on getting a 2 bedroom and a studio or maybe a grand villa at OKW. Please help me decide which resort as I am making our ressie Monday, 12/13/04!

We bought a resale at BWV and as of yesterday, we are in the system. We are also adding on 130 pts. at SSR. But that that is a whole different story.

SSR is close to DTD and Pleasure Island which is a lot of fun for the College aged crowd. If they are 21, this is a good option because they will be able to get into more clubs.

BWV has MGM and Epcot as well as all of the activity on the Boardwalk at night.

To me it would depend on whether they like the parks or the nightlife more. Parks go with BWV and take an occasional bus to DTD. Nightlife, go with SSR.

Either way, you can't go wrong.

I have to agree with HBC. We have three children 8, 20, and 24 and either BWV or SSR would be great. Don't forget that BWV has Atlantic Dance which I believe is 18+ and ESPN.

I'd recommend BWV, based on my previous experience. DS is college-aged, and the last time we were at WDW we stayed at OKW, Dad's chosen resort. One day, DS and I toured all the DVC resorts. He chose BWV as his favorite, so as you can see from my signature, that's where we're staying in January. He was especially interested in the nearness of ESPN, Beaches&Cream, and Epcot & MGM, his 2 favorite theme parks.

They are going to want to go to Pleasure Island every night and drink themselves silly, so my guess would be SSR which is close to the action and if they miss the last bus they can stagger home. If you don't think this is going to happen guess again, trust me it will. I did that once, they came back in the middle of the night every night, and managed to get to MK a few times during the trip. It was mostly the pool in the after noon and drinking at PI every night. :cool1:

Two of the kids won't be 21 until late in the summer. Both sound great. Do both 2 br. have two queen beds in the extra br.?

Resorts with dedicated 2BR usually have two queen beds in the second bedroom. If you get a lock-off anywhere except OKW, you will get a queen bed and a sleeper-sofa bed in the second bedroom. All the studios at OKW have two queen beds, so you will always have two queen beds in the second bedroom there.

Other than that, I think HBC nailed it with his response. And I think Pa@okw95 was a bit presumptive with his.

I think SSR is the way to go. DTD has lots of different entertainment :rockband: whether they are 21 or not. It is just a short walk from SSR and everything there is open very late. There are 3 nightclubs (I think) and those you have to be 21 to get into but there is a comedy club, Music, Live entertainment and I think there is also an 18+ dance club too. They also have "New Years" fire works everynight at midnight. They'll have a blast!

we only stay at BWV with DD20 and her friends and DS 19 and his friends so much more to do, the boardwalk is great, ESPN and everything, they can take the bus to downtown disney, trust me they won't stay anywhere else

I would vote for BW also. I think they will enjoy the dining choices and pool much more there than SSR. I don't think OKW will appeal to them at all.

I think they will enjoy being close to Epcot and definitely enjoy being close to MGM. ESPN will be on thier list too.

If they want to go to PI, they can definitely take the bus.

As to Pa@OKW not everyone in the world is the same. I might have gone out drinking when I was still in college, but I would never have come in plastered if my folks had provided me with a trip to WDW. That would have been plain rude and stupid, as my Dad would have sent me packing.

I thank you'll for all your input and it sounds like BWV would be the way to go. I can't wait to Monday so I can call MS!!!! :jumping1:

Sometimes I am amazed at what is said here but that statement wins the prize. :sad2:

Patti Q: You know the kids and I think that they and you will be thrilled with your choice of the Boardwalk. Good luck making a reservation on Monday.
