Ok.I am really new to all of this, but I was wondering which resort you would recommend for us.I am taking my kids-14,12,10,and 8 in July.I though about getting 2 rooms at one of the All Stars, but thought maybe there was a better option.Which one should I choose???

Having been with 2 adults and three teenagers, I would STRONGLY encourage you to get 2, connecting rooms at a Value Resort. the extra bathroom alone is worth it, and by the end of the week you will still be on speaking terms.

we have stayed Poly and Y&B quite a few times-i would easily tell you Y&B for the convenience of pool & within walking distance to Epcot. if you are the type of family that your not in the room a whole lot go for the Y&B

Given then age of your children, I would second the recommendation for 2 rooms at All-Stars. The 6 of us have stayed at both All Star Movies & Music and enjoyed both. My kids prefer Movies but really wanted to try Sports too.

This year we are staying at POR but again have 2 rooms. I don't think my 8 year old would be happy on the trundle bed (looks small & uncomfortable) even if there were just 5 of us.

Of course if money weren't an obstacle, I'd say 2 rooms at a deluxe would be ideal. But unless we win the lottery, it won't be happening for us.

Fort Wilderness Cabins are another option to consider. Room for 5 but only 1 bathroom.

I have stayed at the contemporary with dH and 3 kids. Stayed in a garden wing room. 2 queen beds and 1 daybed. Was somewhat close. Bathroom was only slight inconvience. 2 kids 15 yo girls had to be alone in bathroom. DS5 would change in room. I would say the bathroom is the big factor.

It was easier especially in July. Its on the Monorail so we could go to the park in the am and go back to the hotel for a swim during the very hot afternoon sun have a few snacks in the room (grocery pickup) then back to the park for the night. It is very crowded in July and tempers were high with the temperature.

I dont know how long the ride is by bus to AS resorts. In any case ask to ride in the front with the driver when U ride the Monorail. the kids will love it.

We will be five in a room at the Dolphin in June and I will be the ONLY female. Could be interesting with one bathroom!!! But I'd rather put up with that inconvenience and be close to many things than having two rooms at the All Stars.

Note: We've stayed at the All Star Music before and had a nice time......... we just like the Epcot area better.

We are a family of 5 (dad, mom, and 3 teens) and we've done both. We prefer the deluxe resorts and we don't mind all being in the same room, so we usually go that way. I guess it all depends on what you prefer.

Most deluxe hotels allow five in a room. I know WL doesn't, I don't know if there are any others. Just a comment about POR. We stayed there on our last visit and it is a very nice resort and we had a great time. However, given the ages of your children, I would not stay there. My DD5 slept on the trundle bed while we were there. She thought it was more fun than sharing a bed with DS2! I remember thinking that it was good she was only 5 because a much older child would not have fit on it. I think it would be tight even for an 8 year old. Plus, the rooms are not that big. I think you would be tripping over one another the whole time! Some hotels also have suites that can sleep six that might end up being the same cost as getting two reg. rooms.

I know the deluxe rooms at AKL sleep 5. They have a daybed. I think the YC has rooms with a daybed that sleep 5 as well.

I appreciate all the good advice.I bought an AP earlier this year in anticipation of this trip,so I guess I will hope that some good rates come out and then I guess I will decide.I really want to stay on site,so we will see.I would hate to be crammed into a room that is too small, but my budget is also a concern. Thanks for all your help.
