We will be staying in a 2-Bedroom on our vacation in 2005. Which resort would you choose and why?

Thanks for any input.

I voted SSR because that's where we are staying next year. We will have a 2BR for 5 nights. We chose that resort because 1) We only have 135 pts left without borrowing and that's exactly how many 5 nights at SSR take; and 2) we visited SSR on our last trip (we were staying at OKW) and loved it. We will be 3 adults.

OKW for largest most relaxing 2 bedroom units at the lowest point use.

There might be special considerations that would change my vote, such as BCV if in December to be close to CP or VWL at same time to be close to MK and the enormous tree and fireplace in WL.

MDF...we need more info to give you advice. Do you have kids coming along? What ages? How important is something like the SAB pool at BCV? What parks do you think you'll visit the most? Do you like to go to DTD a lot for shopping and night life? What kind of theming do you like? Do you like a central location or prefer a little peace & quiet after the parks?

There is no best answer here. It really depends on your tastes and your preferences for the various amenities.

Well, you didn't ask for advice - only why would I choose to stay somewhere. So I don't agree with Granny (sorry dear!) that there are no best answers, as advice was not your question.

So this is my best answer.

I would stay at BWV because it's my favorite resort. I love the theming, the hallways, the pool, the activity on the boardwalk, the bakery, the ice cream place, the proximity to Epcot and MGM, the views of the fireworks.

I just love it.

We are planning to go in 2005 for the F&W festival. So I voted for Beach Club Villas. We have stayed at SSR on our first trip, and though we didnt stay as DVC members in the WLV, we did stay in Wilderness Lodge.

So - for obvious reasons - I would like to stay close to Epcot for the F & W fest.

We are going to use our 11 month window and book SSR - but at 7 months try to switch.

Cant wait to make that reservation!!!

Granny ~ It's me, the wife, a 5 yo and a 3 yo. We will probably swim but the most important thing to the kids will be MK. Most important to the parents will be Food & Wine Festival :hyper:

We will go in the middle of October. Hope the info helps. Keep the suggestions coming!

I voted OKW because the 2 BR are so spacious! Our experience with transportation was awesome! We switched halfway through last trip to BCV for pool and all were disappointed with size of BCV after staying at OKW. We didn't like the problems with transportation at BCV either. Busses didn't seem to run as often as OKW and one late night after MK fireworks, we're crammed on a bus with POR guests and the ride seemed to take forever!

If your kiddos will be spending more time at MK, then I would go with WLV for proximity to MK and Ft. Wilderness for the petting zoo, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Chip & Dale's movie night (?), hayrides, Hoop Dee Doo, etc.

Have fun!

Michelle

Petting zoo???? Fort Wilderness has a petting zoo???? My 6 year old would be wild for that. Can anyone go or do you have to be staying at VWL?

With 2 small children and MK high on the list of places to go my vote for you would be VWL, hands down, no contest. It's close, good pools and better food. FW is right around the corner with pony rides and the petting zoo and a very cheap breakfast buffet, also Chef Mickey's is only a short boatride away then you could take the monorail into the MK.

Well keep us posted on what you decided! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :wave2:

We plan on staying at BWV, but I did vote for OKW, because of the amount of room. Someone else mentioned relaxing. It certainly was a relaxing atmosphere. Almost like going on vacation after being at the parks all day. We chose BWV this year, just because we want to try all the resorts out.

Since food and fine festival is most important, it's a no brainer...stay at BWV or BCV.

Since you require access to both MK and Epcot, I would suggest OKW. The reason is the larger accommodations, and the easy bus access to both locations. If you stay at VWL, you will have much easier access to MK, and can do an easy bus to Epcot, so that would be a close second for you. If you stay in the Boardwalk/Beach Club area, you will have excellent access to Epcot, but there have been many issues reported about bus service to MK. Also, with the "down and out" design of OKW, it feels more like a home, so your kids might settle in better. We have found this to be the case when we have had little ones with us.

Anyone can go - it's not just for guests of Ft Wilderness. There are several activities at FtW that children might enjoy - in addition to the petting zoo and horse barn, there are the nightly campfire/outdoor Disney movies with Chip 'n Dale, watching the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach, horseback riding (minimum age requirement), hayrides and the Hoop De Doo dinner show. There is a charge for some of the activities and you will need reservations for the dinner show and horseback riding activity. NOt sure about the hayride.

Best wishes -

BCV! ... That's our choice for our 2005 trip. We've never stayed at BCV before, so next year is it.

So. My recommendation would be if you can't decide, why not take the opportunity to try out a resort you've never tried.

Good luck!

I've never booked BCV or WLV or SSR but have been to BC and WL. I'm starting to lean a little towards to the OKW. I really do like the extra room and the views are great. I just hope the bus service is up to snuff.

Based on what you indicated, it would seem BCV would be the best choice. Stormalong Bay would be great for swimming and downtime, and you can't beat the proximity to Epcot for Food & Wine.

I voted OKW because that's where we're staying next time. We all chill out better there.

But we would like to try out VWL once and, have enjoyed BWV and BCV, too.

I voted for VWL.

With kids your children's ages the stroller factor to me is important. I have a 1 and 4 yr old and both end up in the stroller and it can be quite a pain in the hiney to deal with folding up the stroller and emptying out the basket and CARRYING all the contents of the basket and holding onto the kids and CARRYING on the stroller onto the bus:crazy: Since you say you'll definetly be at MK alot for the kids, I'd much rather be able to roll the stroller onto the big boat . You'll still have to deal with all that going everywhere else even if you drive (you'll have to fold the stroller and carry everything to get onto the trams) but at least you'll have the convenience of not having to deal with it going over to MK. Likewise, my second choice for the same reason (stroller factor) would be BWV's. And of course if the stroller factor isn't even an issue for you OKW would be the no-brainer choice just because of size and the fact that I love it there.

Anyway, HTH's. Let us know where you end up booking;)
