Which resort didnt live up to your expections..

We will NEVER stay in any value resort, ever, again!!!! I agree with the descriptions that were given earlier, plus, the fact that everyone in the value resorts seem to be miserable and scream at their kids the whole time!!!! Nobody ever smiled!!!! If I am saving up for a vacation, I am going to remember that it is a vacation and stay in a place that allows me to relax!!!!
As far as a letdown, I would have to say, Boardwallk Villas. We are DVC members and I expected a little more from BWV. AS much as members have spent, plus the monthly fees, I feel that to have only one elevator in the BWV and to expect guests to suffer the inconvenience of loooooonnnnnnggggg walks was a bit much!!!   I realize that not every room will be near an elevator in any of the resorts, but this was laughable!! We actually ran into guests that kept getting lost because we all were sure that there had to be another way to get to our rooms!!!!!

Pop, and the sad thing is that I went in with low expectations -- knew it would be a budget experience, and I was perfectly fine with that. Never expected that I would get so little sleep.

zzzzzz-WAP: our neighbors are shutting the dresser drawers
Wack, clack, clack: our neighbors just pulled some clothes off their hangers and that would be the hanger slapping the wall
sssssBOOOOOOM, sssssssssssBOOOOM: this would be everyone in a 5 room radius walking out of the room and instead of pulling the door to, letting the automatic closer shut it. And didn't all those people around us just seem to go in and out of their rooms about every 5 minutes. BOOm, thud, thud, shriek, BOOM, thud thud. *sigh*
KABLURRRBBBLE: someone just used the toilet
zzzzditditditzzzzditditdit: another person walking by with their rolling luggage and/or the maids with their carts. Forget afternoon naps.
WEEE-WEEEE-WEEEE: neighbors alarm clock going on
grrrbbble, mrrrble, weee-oohhhh-weee-oooh: neighbors watching a cop show on tv

I've stayed in a lot of hotels, motels, B&BB's, I've dealt with loud kids, outside hallways, parties in the pool, but I have NEVER had such noise bleed in any place I've stayed, including on other WDW properties. I might as well have been sharing my room with our neighbors or just been sleeping out in the walkway for all the noise protection those walls gave us.

For the record, we stayed January '06, 50's section, third floor, facing the parking lot.

:rotfl:
love the sound effects.

WL -- we were shocked at how tiny the room was. DH and I were constantly bumping into each other and we're not large people.

CR was a HUGE letdown for us. This was a resort that I had imagined staying in my entire life so when DH & I finally decided to stay there I was thrilled. Short lived joy. :sad2:

We stayed in the North Garden Wing and while I liked the size of the room and view I hated hearing everything going on in the room next to and above us. We heard our upstairs neighbors get phone calls, let their kids play ball in the room, and when anyone walked down the hall talking it sounded as if they were in the room. Got out of the shower one morning while a man was talking on his phone in the hall and I thought that he was in our room, needless to stay I stayed in the bathroom until I realized DH wasn't answering him. Very disappointing stay that we actually ended up cutting short.

I've never been disappointed with any WDW resort. But then again I have low expectations. You tend to live longer if very little upsets you.

Sorry, but that's funny.

Poly, it was nice but way too loud and chaotic.

I always smile when I stay at AS Sports and have relaxed quite a few times by the pool with drink in hand. Just because you pay more for your stay doesn't entitle you to great convenience.

My cousin and I are a year in age apart, grew up together and have totally different tastes in resorts.

She hates CBR and loves CSR. CBR is one of our favorites and I cant stand CSR. I love AKL and could take or leave WL. She loves WL and is not a big fan of AKL. So dont worry if someone doesnt like the resort your staying at ..you may love it.:lovestruc

Our next trip is to the Boardwalk Inn...my cousin said "Its a great resort"...
I might check out the Beach club instead! :goodvibes

:upsidedow  :music: :wave2:

I see that you've visited a number of Disney resorts. Were you pleased with those? Just wondering as we have stayed at the CBR and are staying at the WL in May/June, 2008.

Thanks

we loved WL!!!! Its our favorite resort.... just the location of BW and BC cant be beat..

I've never been disappointed either - we have stayed at the ASSports and at the campground.Fortunately the allstars was just a long weekend but it was not bad. When we go for our 10 days we take our rooms with us (aka camper) - our own beds, our own pillows, our own towels and the neighbors aren't even that close. :rotfl: so we can't hear the toilets flush and there are no elevators to ding just the sounds of the birds.

Best vacations we do.

We disliked everything about POP. Too chaotic, too loud, too far to walk from the parking lot. We were really looking forward to POP - but we will NEVER go back there.

This is an easy question for me.

Boardwalk Inn. :sad2: I was SO regretful I stayed there vs the Swan for 1/4 the price. We had HORRID service from the start & housekeeping was awful and the room smelled awful. DS17 slept on the floor instead of the OLD nasty sofa bed. I am sure somebody will come along and say the sofa beds are great - but this was 3 yrs ago and at that time they were not. They were extreme bumblers when it came to fixing that situation, too. Every time I called I had to explain the room type because they said we shouldn't have been allowed to book it because we are a family of 5 (it was a deluxe room 2queens and a sofa bed) That stay was a bust. BUT we still laugh about it & the situations we encountered there. It gave us that much. :rotfl: Things were so bad we called CRO and tried to book something else and check out early but it was Thanksgiving and we were stuck there. Couldn't wait to leave.

Fort Wilderness Cabins, won't be returning there. Just a bunch of things I didn't care for, no food court, it seemed really dark in the cabins, deep pool, and the busses were kind of a pain.

It was the Yacht Club for us. We were so looking forward to our stay there and it just didn't meet the same standards as the other resorts we had stayed at. The CMs were very unfriendly. They guy that checked us in was downright rude. A room service tray was left in the hallway for a day and a half. Ketchup or something was spilled on the carpet and was there for several days. I just can't understand that when mousekeeping is around all the time.

I never laughed so hard as I was reading your post. The sounds made me have Post-Tramatic-Stress-Disorder flashbacks to our last year's trip. I just had to chuckle.
The only reason we chose POP was for the heralded dedicated bus line. We heard raves about how much better it was because it didn't have to share a route. One problem: everyone and their dog was wanting the dedicated bus route. The lines for the bus were longer than ANY line in the parks. Then we had to cram in sooo tight, I felt I was cheating on my wife. Not to mention, the actual bus stop was the furthest away from every park entrance. Horribly inconvienent. If we ever do a value again...not likely...we will do one of the others.

FW- I felt like I was not on vacation. Too much walking, waiting for the busses just to get to the pool or to go to the gift shop/store. It's a nice resort, just not my idea of a vacation. I could have gone camping near our place for a lot less money. The cabins were so so. I know a lot of people love it, just wasn't what I was looking for.

I LOVED your sound effects. Would not have loved living them out but did enjoy reading it.

I
Second would be BC. Lobby was nonexistant but the room and view made up for the WOW facotor of a lobby. I preferred BWI over BC.

.

Really? I am posting the opposite. I thought the lobby was very nice, but the room was awful. I guess that decor does not impress me -- beachy and the beds were very uncomfortable -- especially the daybed. We have five in our party, and have to use the daybed. We stayed at AKL and absolutely loved it -- including the daybed/couch -- very unique -- but the daybed at BC was simply a wooden bench with a foam mat on it and it was short. My daughter -- who is only 5'2" was too long for the daybed -- kept hitting her head on the wood. I would go back for the pool, definitely, and the location of the resort, but probably would request two rooms so no one had to sleep on the daybed.
