We are going to DLP at Easter and hoping to get to the park about 8am for the extra magic hour. We have an 8 year old girl and a 4 year old boy which ride should we head to first ? We have been before years ago and dumbo always seemed to have the longest queue so Im wondering about heading there first but then the Buzz lightyear ride looks great too ....

Thanks in advance.

I would go for Dumbo as there is a Fast Pass for Buzz. If you stay at a Disney Hotel and have the Extra Magic Hours you can go ride Dumbo a couple times before the rest of the park opens and it gets too crowded.

Have fun!

Buzz is quite often not open right at the start of EMH anyway, it seems to take a wee while to get up and running in the mornings :confused3 . If I were you, I'd head to Fantasyland and do Dumbo, Peter Pan, Teacups, Carousel etc - if you're there for 8am you'll get loads of rides in before you have to start seriously queueing, certainly for that first hour.

And as has been said already, you can pick up Fastpass for Buzz (but only after 10am) if theres a queue during EMH. You can also Fastpass Peter Pan if you want to have more goes on Dumbo during EMH  !

We always head for Peter Pan first. We rode PP 4 times in a row last summer before anyone else came near the ride and twice at Christmas. We then usually head for Dumbo and get right on there. Then after we've done Teacups, Carrousela nd Pinochio we head over to Buzz and usually have no problems getting on it

We headed striaght to Buzz and rode twice without seeing anyone else on it. Have always found the fast pass pretty useless on Buzz as you hardly go any distance before you join the main queue.

After Buzz head to Dumbo and Peter Pan.

Thats what weve done and it worked for us anyhow...

Have a magical time!

Is there a list of the rides that are open in the EMH ?

I have not yet been to DLRP and am not sure if all the rides are open for EMH or just certain ones .. thanks !

Morning EMH rides open:

Fantasyland:
Carrousel
Peter Pan
Dumbo
Teacups
Pinochio or Snow White
Castle (upstairs and down)

Discoveryland:
Buzz
Orbitron
Space Mountain

Doesnt seem an awful lot but well worth it. We did at least 9 rides in an hour (including some more than once) when the queues for most rides were at least an hour later in the day

Thanks everyone,I so worried that it will be really busy so I want to make the most of those 2 hours when hopefully it wont be as bad. What time do you think we should go for breakfast if we want to get to the park about 8 ?We are in the cheyenne. Im hoping we can get up and get ready then go for breakfast and get the bus without having to go back to our room.

If you can be in for breakfast by 7.00, this is the earliest time available, you should miss the crowds in the restaurant (it doesn't matter what time you're allocated, they won't mind you turning up early), hopefully you'll be finished by 7.30 - 7.45 which will give you plenty of time to walk or catch a shuttle bus and be at the park gates ready for your EMH at 8.00am. If your planning to walk and you're anything like me you will get very sidetracked in Disney Village. :rotfl:

My advice is to pack everything you need for the park first thing and head down for breakfast at 7.00am. Once you've enjoyed Breakfast take the short walk over to the parks, that way you can let your food go down as well as enjoy a quiet and relaxing walk to the park. Once arriving at 8.00am grab your park guides and pop by City Hall if you need to make reservations and than head over to Fantasyland first. All Attractions will be walk on's at this time because everyone will either be fighting with strollers to get on the bus or waiting to get a table for breakfast back at hotel's. Once the crowds start arriving at 9.00 head over to Discoveryland.

Another vote for Fantasyland - if you want to do Dumbo do it first. Buzz shouldn't be too bad until after the park opens.

we have just got back from a fantastic time at dlrp we stayed at cheyenne which was great,we had brekkie at 7 every morning we usually finished about 7.30 ish then we walked out of main reception so our children could have there photos with the 2 characters then headed off to the parks for about 8am - 8.10 then headed for fantasyland for small world and dumbos befoe they got to busy as our younger children loved them.
