Which princess character meal???

Hello...We have booked our trip through DU and I am trying to decide on our dining plans. My daughter who will be almost four when we go is smitten with the princesses, especially Sleeping Beauty and Belle.

We are trying to decide between Cindy's Royal Breakfast, Cinderella's Gala Feast Dinner @ 1900 Park Fare OR the Princess Storybook Dinner @ Akershus.

We will be on the dining plan, and I'm not certain we will want to use two TS credits for the Cindy's breakfast if the other two meals are just as good (and since we are primarily concerned w/seeing other princesses, not Cinderella) BUT, also not sure about the menu at Akershus, since we have a 10 year old who will have to eat off of the adult's menu (nothing very plain here)

Can anyone give me some suggestions as to which meal might be best??

I would go with CRT simply because it is in a castle. Where does a Princess live... in a castle (in the eyes of every little girl). While I like the food & service at 1900 Park Fare better, a little girl is going to like CRT better.

I have to agree. My dd was 3 1/2 and the castle was it for her. She wanted to go see where Cinderella's bedroom was! We have done Norway breakfast and enjoyed it also, but it's not the castle. We have also done 1900 for dinner and I thought the food here was the best. But, for that age, I would do the castle for her first experience.

I have been to the 1900 PF and the food was really good. We are trying CRT for dinner next month.

I haven't heard good things about the Norway princess breakfast. Is Park Fare the way to go if you have to choose between the two? A co-worker is going and wants to do a character meal with princessess for her 7 year old daughter. CRT is too expensive for them and so she's looking at Park Fare.

We loved the Princess lunch @ Askerhus so much that we've made ADRs for this trip too. Our waiter was awesome and so was the food. We saw Alice,Cinderella,Belle,Ariel,and Sleeping Beauty.I don't know about the breakfast.

I booked the storybook in Epcot for lunch. my dd5 loves sleeping beauty and belle too doesnt care that much for cinderella but we can still see the castle without paying twice as much! as far as the food I was worried but Im over it... she probably wouldnt eat much at either place once she see's the Princesses it will be crazy I just cant wait to see the look on her face. we also got resee's for the bibbidi bobbidi boo salon before so she can look and feel like a princess

The character interaction at Akershus is nice bit IMO the food is not worth the price. My two kids did not eat ANYTHING here! We LOVED 1900 Park Fare. The food was great, and my DD2 was fascinated with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Both of my kids loved the strawberry soup (tastes like smoothies!) We've never done CRT, although I would like to one day!

Last year, we had a PSB dinner. We saw the following princesses: Ariel, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Belle (in her blue dress), Cinderella (not normally there, I think she was "subbing" for Snow White), and Jasmine.

Character interaction was really good, and the setting is lovely. However, we weren't impressed w/ the food at dinner at all. We had the dining plan, but had we paid OOP for our DS's hot dog & our DD's PB & J "uncrustable", I would have been really upset! (I think the kids' menu is a bit more varied now though.) DH & I had been looking forward to eating here because we were excited about trying Norwegian food. So, it wasn't that we were expecting American food, it's just that the food wasn't good. My pasta was sticky & clumpy w/ dried-out marinara sauce & chicken that I wasn't sure was done. DH's dish of poached cod wasn't good either. I was really disappointed - all the wonderful World Showcase restaurants from which to choose, and we ate sticky pasta & icky cod. The desserts were good, however.

Because we did like the character experience & the restaurant, we're trying a breakfast PSB this year.

We ate breakfast at CRT last year & thoroughly enjoyed it! The characters we saw were as follows: Aurora, Belle (in her blue dress), Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Snow White, and Wendy. The food was yummy. The characters were a little "rushed", but they still managed to be friendly & engaging. Our interaction w/ Snow White was magical!

Beginning in February, of course, it requires 2 TS credits to eat at CRT, and Cinderella is in the lobby as opposed to greeting the tables upstairs. But I think the other princesses still circulate among the guests' tables upstairs for breakfast & lunch.

We're trying lunch at CRT this year.

We've never been to 1900 Park Fare but want to try it. At dinner, the only princess that is there is Cinderella, I believe, so you won't see other princesses at 1900 Park Fare except Cinderella at dinner. The other characters that are normally there for dinner are the Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, Suzy, & Perla. (For breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, I think the characters are Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, & maybe Pooh.)

Thanks, everyone for the replies! I'm still not sure, but I think we are leaning toward the castle! I might try to do a lunch there instead, as I feel a bit better using the TS credits for that type of food rather than eggs and muffins! I'm sure no matter where we decide it will be great! We just got back and did 1900 Park Fare for dinner our first night and the Norway Princess Lunch later in the week. My girls really loved both! We saw Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Prince Charming and the two mice at 1900 Park Fare. The buffet food was great and our server let us all get smoothies & shakes for drinks. My girls loved seeing Cinderella, but actually really enjoyed the two mice. They came around a few times while we were there and actually stuck up on my four year old once and she laughed and laughed. We enjoyed the Norway Princess Lunch too. I had originally booked the breakfast but decided to save the TS credit for lunch. We saw Aurora, Belle, Jasmine and Aladdin. I think the girls liked Aladdin the most. The food was a bit different but we all enjoyed it. We actually ate quite a bit off of the appetizer buffet. They have bread, cold meats and cheeses, salad, shrimp salad, chicken salad etc. My girls had a hot dog and a turkey cheese roll up with grapes. Both enjoyed them! I would recommend it! Have fun planning!

We just did the PSB at Norway last Saturday. Our first meal in Disney and it was FANTASTIC!!! The food was fresh and great, service was wonderful and the character interaction was also wonderful We had Belle in her yellow dress, Mary Poppins, Princess Aurora, Jasmine(sp?) and Snow White. The kids loved it

We are going to do the norway lunch and CRT lunch. I could not decide between the 2 and figured we would splurge on a couple meals to make the girls happy.

We have actually done all three more than once & it really just depends on what you're looking for and what you can afford to spend. If you haven't done the castle, it really is a "must do" at least once, but go into it knowing that the food is only so-so, the interactions are often rushed, and (especially now) is VERY expensive for what you get - even with the pictures. We have not been especially impressed with the Askerhaus - foodwise or interaction wise. My husband & I think it's a conspiracy - they don't worry about how the food tastes because they know the princesses will bring in the crowds regardless. At both restaurants, most of the princesses were like "ok kid, take the picture & sit down" ... even when the restaurants weren't busy. The 1900 Park Fare is our favorite - the food is awesome & the characters take more time to interact with you. The only downside to that is it's only Cinderella - no other princesses (but the mice, prince charming & fairly godmother are there).

We're going back in May & trying to decide which to do... the Askerhaus vs. the Castle b/c my 4 year old loves them both, but we're not doing both. We'll definately do the 1900 PF though! The food & visiting the Grand Floridian is worth it!
